Consenting to the Raising of a Loan of £4,500 by the Palmerston North City Council and Prescribing the Conditions Thereof

FREYBERG, Governor-General ORDER IN COUNCIL At the Government House at Wellington, this 22nd day of September, 1948 Present: His Excellency THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL WHEREAS the Palmerston North City Council (hereinafter called the said local authority), being desirous of raising a loan of four thousand five hundred pounds (£4,500), to be known as “Gasworks Gantry Loan, 1948” (hereinafter called the said loan), for the purpose of purchasing and erecting a coal gantry at the gasworks, has complied with the provisions of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926 (hereinafter called the said Act), and it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council, as required by the said Act, should be given to the raising of the said loan:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section eleven of the said Act, as set out in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising in New Zealand by the said local authority of the said loan for the said purpose up to the amount of four thousand five hundred pounds (£4,500), and in giving such consent doth hereby determine as follows :- (1) The term for which the said loan or any part thereof may be raised shall not exceed twenty (20) years.
(2) The rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a rate or rates exceeding three pounds five shillings (£3 5s.) per centum per annum.
(3) The said local authority shall, before raising the said loan or any part thereof, make provision for the repayment thereof by establishing a sinking fund under the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, or under such other statutory enactment as may be applicable, and shall thereafter make payments to such sinking fund at intervals of not more than one year at a rate or rates per centum which shall be not less than three pounds fourteen shillings and fivepence (£3 14s. 5d.), such payments to be made in respect of every part of the said loan for the time being so borrowed and not repaid, the first such payment to be made not later than one year after the first day from which interest to the lender or lenders is computed on the said loan or any part thereof so raised.
(4) The payment of interest and the repayment of principal in respect of the said loan shall be made in New Zealand.
(5) No amount payable as either interest or sinking fund in respect of the said loan shall be paid out of loan-money.
(6) The rate payable for brokerage, underwriting, and procurement fees in respect of the raising of the said loan or any part thereof shall not in the aggregate exceed one-half per centum of the amount raised.
(7) No moneys shall be borrowed under this consent after the expiration of two years from the date hereof.

Domain Board Appointed to Have Control of the Waimangaroa Domain B. C. FREYBERG, Governor-General ORDER IN COUNCIL At the Government House at Wellington, this 29th day of September, 1948 Present: His Excellency THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint James Ernest Dowse, Monica Nicholls, Oscar James Lunn, Joseph Oates, Clarence Russell Boys, James Adam, Herbert Nicholls, Lawrence Crighton Hunter, and Norman James Sherlock to be the Waimangaroa Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Thursday, the seventh day of October, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, at seven o'clock p.m. as the time when, and the Victory Theatre, Westport, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.
SCHEDULE NELSON LAND DISTRICT.-WAIMANGAROA DOMAIN SECTIONS 223 and 224, Town of Waimangaroa, Block I, Kawatiri Survey District: Area, 5 acres, more or less.

Domain Board Appointed to Have Control of the Karamea Memorial Domain B. C. FREYBERG, Governor-General ORDER IN COUNCIL At the Government House at Wellington, this 29th day of September, 1948 Present: HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint Robert Graham Tunnicliff, William Robert Hird, George Gerald Hawes, Donald Robert James Simpson, Harry Charles Simpson, Allen William John Simkin, and Frank Herbert Wood to be the Karamea Memorial Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Tuesday, the nineteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, at eight o'clock p.m., as the time when, and the Pavilion of the Karamea Bowling Club, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.
SCHEDULE NELSON LAND DISTRICT.-KARAMEA MEMORIAL DOMAIN ALL that area in the Buller County, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 1 rood 30 perches, more or less, being part of Sections 18 and 19, Square 152, situated in Block XIV, Oparara Survey District, and being the whole of the land shown on plan No. 3858, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Nelson. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/609, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

FREYBERG, Governor-General ORDER IN COUNCIL At the Government House at Wellington, this 29th day of September, 1948 Present: His Excellency THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint The Manager, Tokaanu Hotel, ex officio, Aubrey Gladstone Ferris, Cecil Bridgen, Thomas Dempsey, Rene Augustus De Loree, Victor Joseph Ford, Puataata Alfred Grace, Tupu Faturoni, and John Atirau Asher to be the Tokaanu Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Monday, the fourth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, at two o'clock p.m., as the time when, and the Town Hall, Tokaanu, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.
SCHEDULE WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.-TOKAANU DOMAIN ALL that area situate in the Taupo County, containing by admeasurement 59 acres 3 roods 3 perches, more or less, being Section 7, Block VIII, Township of Tokaanu, situated in Block X, Puketi Survey District. Also all that area situate in the Taupo County, containing by admeasurement 57 acres 1 rood 5 perches, more or less, being Section 1, Block V, Township of Tokaanu, situated in Block X, Puketi Survey District.
