SEPT. 23] THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE Approval of Safety Glass in Terms of the Traffic Regulations 1936, Amendment No. 1 IN terms of Regulation 10 of the Traffic Regulations 1936, as amended by Regulation 6 of the Traffic Regulations 1936, Amendment No. 1, the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve as being of safety type the glass of the kind or make described in the Schedule hereto. Exemption Order under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940 PURSUANT to the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the said regulations, so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:- A motor-driver's licence issued under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment on a farm or market-garden of the respective employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose. The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.-Notice Declaring Land Taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies: And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman: And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 18th day of August, 1948, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court: And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship : Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 23rd day of November, 1948, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King. SCHEDULE AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT ALL that parcel of land situated in Block II, Puniu Survey District, containing by admeasurement ten (10) acres three (3) roods thirteen and six-hundredths (13·06) perches, more or less, being part of Allotments 238 and 239, Parish of Mangapiko, and being the balance of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 515, folio 59 (limited as to parcels), (Auckland Registry).
