Officers Authorized to Take and Receive Statutory Declarations

Pursuant to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons whose names are set out in the Schedule hereto, being officers in the service of the Crown holding the offices stated opposite their names respectively in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

Appointment of Members of Medical Council under the Medical Practitioners Act, 1914

In pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Medical Practitioners Act, 1914, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby reappoint John Cairney, M.D. (Univ. N.Z.), and George Douglas Robb, M.D. Ch.M. (Univ. N.Z.), F.R.C.S., (Eng.), to be members of the Medical Council under the aforesaid Act.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 8th day of September, 1948.

Crown Land Notified Available as Site for Commercial or Industrial Purposes

Pursuant to the authority conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and section forty of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1945, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the undermentioned land is available for disposal as a site for commercial or industrial purposes.

SCHEDULE

WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.--BOROUGH OF GREYMOUTH

Section 475, Town of Greymouth (formerly part Reserve 703): Area, 1 acre 1 rood 30.4 perches.

Section 476, Town of Greymouth (formerly part Reserve 703): Area, 2 roods 15 perches.

Land Temporarily Reserved in the Hawke's Bay Land District

Whereas by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral licence, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve the land in the Hawke's Bay Land District, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for an addition to a public-school site, Porangahau.

HAWKE'S BAY LAND DISTRICT

Section 5, Block XII, Porangahau Survey District: Area, 2 roods, more or less. (S.O. 2261.)

Lands Permanently Reserved in the North Auckland, Auckland, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Wellington, and Nelson Land Districts

Whereas by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral licence, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at the expiration of one month, but not later than six months, after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette:

And whereas the lands described in the Schedule hereto were by the Warrant dated the nineteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, and published in the Gazette of the twenty-fourth day of that month, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Act for the purposes in the Schedule of the said Warrant specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved:

Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the lands described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be permanently reserved for which purposes the said lands were so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

Allotment 127, Otau Parish, situated in Block XIV, Wairoa Survey District: Area, 175 acres 2 roods 10 perches, more or less. (North Auckland plan S.O. 30991L.) (Water-conservation.)

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

Section 1, Block IV, Marotiri Survey District: Area, 3 acres, more or less. (Auckland plan S.O. 23998.) (Site for a school for Maoris.)

Section 8A, Block IX, Otanake Survey District: Area, 3 acres 2 roods, more or less. (Auckland plan S.O. 12615A.) (Resting-place for travelling stock.)

GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT

Section 69, Township of Ormond, situated in Block VIII, Waimata Survey District: Area, 1 acre 2 roods 17 perches, more or less. (Plantation.)

HAWKE'S BAY LAND DISTRICT

Section 28, Block I, Waipukurau Survey District: Area, 2 acres, more or less. (Resting-place for travelling stock.)

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

All that area in the City of Wanganui, containing by admeasurement 18.18 perches, more or less, being parts of Sections 259 and 262, Town of Wanganui: Bounded, commencing at the southernmost corner of Section 260, Town of Wanganui, in a south-westerly direction along the north-western side of Maria Place for a distance of 113.82 links; thence along right lines bearing 316° 14' distance 110.92 links, and bearing 39° 05' 40" distance 96.29 links to the south-western boundary of Section 261, Town of Wanganui; thence in a south-easterly direction along the south-western boundaries of Sections 261 and 260 to the southernmost corner of Section 260, the point of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/3/531, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Public buildings for the General Government.)

All that area situated in the City of Lower Hutt, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 25 perches, more or less, being Lot 53 on S.O. plan 20369, and being part Section 14, Hutt District, and accretion thereto. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/754/1A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Recreation.)

All that area in the Masterton County, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods 0.8 perches, more or less, being Lot 1, D.P. 11783, being part of Takamaitu No. I Block, situated in Block XII, Kopuaranga Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 16/2873B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered green. (Resting-place for travelling stock.)

NELSON LAND DISTRICT

All that area containing by admeasurement 2 roods 20.4 perches, more or less, being portions of Sections 964 and 966, City of Nelson. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/1107/6, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (S.O. plan 9521.) (Recreation.)

Section 12, Block VII, Ngakawau Survey District: Area, 1 rood 1 perch, more or less. (Nelson S.O. plan 9497.) (Railway.)
