Declaring Land to be subject to Part I of the Maori Land Amendment Act, 1936

Pursuant to section 4 of the Maori Land Amendment Act, 1936, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares the lands described in the Schedule hereto to be subject to Part I of the said Act, and to be included in the Homewood Development Scheme.

Details : Buoys in the following positions have been lifted and should be expunged from charts:-

(1) Light-buoy 306° 1.5 miles from lighthouse.
(2) Light-buoy 243° 2.4 miles from lighthouse.
(3) Unlighted buoy 240° 3.03 miles from lighthouse.

CROWN LANDS NOTICE

Land in Hawke's Bay Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures
District Lands and Survey Office,
Napier, 26th January, 1948.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924, and applications will be received at the District. Lands and Survey Office, Napier, up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Monday, 8th March, 1948.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, on Thursday, 11th March, 1948, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, weighting for improvements, and lease fee.

Hawke's Bay Land District.-First-Class Land
Hawke's Bay County.-Heretaunga Survey District
Section 7, Block X : Area, 2 acres 0 roods 1 perch. Capital value, £60. Deposit on deferred payments, £5 : Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £3 12s. 3d. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £1 4s.
Weighted with £14 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising 3 chains of road-boundary fence, half-share boundary fence (6 chains, £9), and grassing, £5.

This is an old quarry-site situated on the Fernhill-Napier Road about one-third of a mile from the Omahu Pa, and eight miles and a half from the Hastings Post-office. The area comprises about one-third old roadway and quarry working, the balance being flat and in pasture.
