Notice of Intention to take Leasehold Estates in Land in Block VIII, Papakaio District, and in Section 74A, Steward Settlement, for an Aerodrome

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of an aerodrome—and for the purposes of such public work the leasehold estate in the land first described in the Schedule hereto, and held from His Majesty the King by Charles Robertson Hay, of Dunedin, Farmer, under and by virtue of Lease No. 6763, Otago Registry, and the leasehold estate in the land secondly described in the Schedule hereto, and held from His Majesty the King by the said Charles Robertson Hay under and by virtue of leasehold certificate of title, Vol. 206, folio 256, Otago Registry, are required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land in respect of which the leasehold estates are required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Waitaki and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of the said leasehold estates in land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such leasehold estates in land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

In the Otago Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 126688, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Form of Standard Film-hiring Contract approved by the Minister under the Cinematograph Films Amendment Act, 1934, amended

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 10 of the Cinematograph Films Amendment Act, 1934, I hereby approve of the amendment of the standard form of film-hiring contract by the deletion of subclause (k) of clause 1 thereof and the substitution therefor of the following subclause:—

“1 (k) The films referred to in this agreement are to be of 35 mm. width or of 16 mm. width if so described in the Schedule hereto.”

The Traffic Regulations 1936.—Direction Indicator approved

IN terms of Regulation 10 of the Traffic Regulations 1936, the Minister of Transport hereby approves of the appliance described in the Schedule hereto for use on or in connection with a motor-vehicle, provided that and so long as the said appliance is identical in design, construction, make, and effect with the sample thereof deposited in the office of the Transport Department, Wellington.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said Act the land described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 46 on the 21st day of August, 1947, at page 1022:

And whereas an objection was made by the owner in the manner prescribed by the said Act objecting to the taking of the said land:

And whereas the Minister of Lands did not revoke his notice of intention to take the said land:

And whereas the owner has withdrawn the objection to the taking of the said land:

And whereas the Land Sales Committee did on the 18th day of December, 1947, make an order determining that the land is suitable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman or of two or more discharged servicemen:

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the land described in the said Schedule is taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 3rd day of March, 1948, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land situated in Block XIV, Maungakawa Survey District, containing by admeasurement six hundred and eighty-four (684) acres three (3) roods twenty-five (25) perches, more or less, being part of Kiwitahi No. 3c Block, and being all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 97, folio 3 (Auckland Registry).
