BANKS PENINSULA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Redemption Loan, 1948, £1,400

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Banks Peninsula Electric-power Board, a corporate body duly incorporated under the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on the Board's Redemption Loan, 1948, £1,400, authorized to be raised by Order in Council appearing in the New Zealand Gazette No. 24, 6th May, 1948, page 477, the Banks Peninsula Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixtieth of a penny (1/60d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Banks Peninsula Electric-power District, comprising the Borough of Akaroa, the counties of Akaroa, Wairewa, Mount Herbert, and the Diamond Harbour Settlement in the Borough of Lyttelton; and that such rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the lst day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years or until the loan is fully paid off."

Dated at Little River, this 10th day of August, 1948.

The common seal of the Banks Peninsula Electric-power Board was hereto affixed at the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the said Board in the presence of—

Notice of Order Dispensing with Consents or Conditions of Amalgamation

NOTICE is hereby given that the Loyal Jubilee Lodge, No. 6845, branch of the North Canterbury District of The Manchester Unity Independent Order of Oddfellows (New Zealand) Friendly Society, Register No. 312(11)23, whose registered office is at Christchurch, desires to amalgamate with the Loyal Riccarton Lodge, No. 6781, branch of the North Canterbury District of The Manchester Unity Independent Order of Oddfellows (New Zealand) Friendly Society, Register No. 312(11)22 ; and that on the 20th day of September, 1948, the trustees of the first-named branch intend to apply to the Registrar that the following consents and conditions prescribed by the Friendly Societies Act, 1909, for an amalgamation may be dispensed with, namely:

  1. The assent of two-thirds in value of members : All members were notified by post of each special meeting, but very few attended. Of those in attendance the proposal to amalgamate was unanimous.

  2. The written consent of every person for the time being receiving or entitled to any relief, annuity, or other benefits : Members' rights to benefits will remain as at present and are, to a certain extent, guaranteed by the District Benefit Fund.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Loyal Riccarton Lodge, No. 6781, branch of the North Canterbury District of The Manchester Unity Independent Order of Oddfellows (New Zealand) Friendly Society, Register No. 312(11)22, whose registered office is at Christchurch, desires to amalgamate with the Loyal Jubilee Lodge, No. 6845, branch of the North Canterbury District of The Manchester Unity Independent Order of Oddfellows (New Zealand) Friendly Society, Register No. 312(11)23; and that on the 20th day of September, 1948, the trustees of the first-named branch intend to apply to the Registrar that the following consents and conditions prescribed by the Friendly Societies Act, 1909, for an amalgamation may be dispensed with, namely:
