CROWN LANDS NOTICE

Town Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease

Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 19th July, 1948.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Monday, 23rd August, 1948.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Tuesday, 24th August, 1948, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicants are required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee, and, in the case of Section 103, the amount of weighting for improvements (£14).

NOTE.—These sections are offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessee, whose rights shall be to the surface soil only.

The Township of Whangamata is situated at the entrance to the Whangamata Harbour on the eastern side of the Coromandel Peninsula, about twenty-three miles from Waihi.

Sections 78–81 and 188, 189, and 193 are situated with frontages to Main Port Road, while Sections 194–197 have frontages to side road just off Main Port Road. Section 103 has frontage to a side road approximately 20 chains off the Main Port Road.

All sections are suitable for building-sites.

NOTE

  1. Selectors will be required, within a period of twelve months of selecting, to erect a permanent residence on the property.
  2. Preference will be accorded to applications submitted by ex-servicemen and the wives or widows of ex-servicemen.
  3. The Lands and Survey Department does not accept any obligation to improve the existing access to any of these sections.
