THOMAS PERRY AND SONS, LIMITED
ADVERTISMENT OF PETITION
NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court (as follows) was on the 23rd day of December, 1947, presented to the said Court by Clifford Keith Perry, Company Director, Christchurch.
Petition
“ (1) That Thomas Perry and Sons, Limited, may be wound up by the Court under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1933;
“ (2) Or, preferentially, that such other order may be made in the premises as shall be just.”
And notice is hereby given that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at the Supreme Court House, Christchurch, on the 9th day of February, 1948, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

NOTE.—Any person who intends to appear on the hearing of the said petition must serve on or send by post to the above-named petitioner notice in writing of his intention so to do. The notice must state the name, address, and description of the person, or, if a firm, the name, address and description of the firm, and an address for service within three miles of the office of the Supreme Court at Christchurch, and must be signed by the person or firm, or his or their solicitor (if any), and must be served, or, if posted, must be sent by post in sufficient time to reach the above-named petitioner’s address for service not later than eleven o’clock in the forenoon of Saturday, the 7th day of February, 1948.
NOTE.—For the information of persons and firms having business relations with the company, the petitioner desires to state that this petition in no way arises from any question of ability of the company to meet financial engagements in the usual manner on or before due date, or contractual obligations. This petition in no way affects any other company with which this company is associated.

NOTICE OF CHANGE OF SURNAME
I, DAVID KEITH TARRY, of Gisborne, Painter, heretofore called and known by the name DAVID KEITH CONWAY, hereby give notice that on the 24th day of December, 1947, I renounced and abandoned the use of the surname Conway and assumed in lieu of such surname the surname of TARRY, so that henceforth for all purposes whatsoever my true, full, and proper name shall be DAVID KEITH TARRY; and, further, that such change of name is evidenced by a deed-poll dated the 24th day of December, 1947, and duly executed by me and attested and intended to be enrolled in the Registry of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Gisborne.

SPRINGS-ELLESMERE ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers it thereunto enabling, the Springs-Ellesmere Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:
“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £30,000, known as the ‘ No. 7 Reticulation Loan, 1946,’ authorized pursuant to section 15 of the Finance Act (No. 2), 1936, to be raised by the Springs-Ellesmere Electric-power Board under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, for the purpose of the further reticulation of the Springs-Ellesmere Electric-power District, the said the Springs-Ellesmere Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fifteenth (1/15) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the Springs-Ellesmere Electric-power District, comprising the whole of the counties of Ellesmere, Springs, and Paparua, parts of the counties of Selwyn, Halswell, and Malvern, and the town districts of Leeston and Southbridge; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 31st day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
