Land in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease

Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 21st June, 1948.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up till noon on Monday, 26th July, 1948.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Tuesday, 27th July, 1948, at 10 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.

SCHEDULE

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND
Ohinemuri County.—Katikati and Aroha Survey Districts
SECTION 1, Block XII, Katikati Survey District, and Section 1, Block VIII, Aroha Survey District: Area, 529 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £530 ; half-yearly rent, £10 12s.

This section is situated in Woodlands Road approximately eight miles from Waihi Township, six miles from Waimata Railway-station and School. Approximately 10 acres felled and reverted to second growth and blackberry, the balance is in bush. The property is from gently undulating to easy country at the front verging into hilly and slightly broken country at the back, and is watered by permanent streams in the gullies.

NOTE.—Preference will be given to ex-servicemen and the wives and widows of ex-servicemen.

Napier, 21st June, 1948.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on optional tenure under the Land Act, 1924 ; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Monday, 5th July, 1948.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, on Thursday, 8th July, 1948, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position and farming experience.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, lease and mortgage fees, and amount of weighting for improvements.

SCHEDULE

SECOND-CLASS LAND
Wairoa County.—Nuhaka North Survey District
SECTION 3, Block XVII : Area, 317 acres. Capital value, £240. Deposit on deferred payments, £20 : Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term: twenty years), £9 2s. 10d. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £4 16s.

Weighted with £250 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising dwelling, fencing, and 50 acres partly grassed.

The property is situated on the Mangaone Road, distant about thirty miles from Wairoa. About 36 acres of the section is exceptionally wet flat land, comprising 4 acres in rough pasture and 32 acres swamp land, while the remainder comprises 2 acres undulating land in scrub and 279 acres mostly steep hill country; practically all covered in manuka scrub, tauhinu, and sweet fern. The soil is mostly poor quality loam resting on clay formation. The section is watered by permanent creeks.

The property is suitable only for farming in conjunction with other land.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924 ; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Friday, 6th August, 1948.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday, 11th August, 1948, at 10 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.

NOTE.—This section is offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessee, whose rights shall be to the surface soil only.

SCHEDULE

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND
Leaning Rock Survey District.—Otago Mining District
SECTION 147, Block I, and Section 91, Block VII : Area, 92 acres 2 roods 2 perches. Capital value, £200 ; half-yearly rent, £4.

This property, which is situated three miles from Alexandra fronting the Alexandra-Cromwell Highway, comprises level land with scattered areas of good soil; wild thyme is the only vegetation. The soil is of fair micha schist ranging from 2 ft. 6 in. to 6 in., resting on gravel formation. The general quality of the land is fair to poor.
