ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 9th day of
June, 1948
Present :
THE RIGHT Hon. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Harbours Act, 1923, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, doth hereby license and permit James
Edward McKenzie and Tennis Wood Murray, both of Taieri Mouth
(hereinafter called the licensees, which term shall include their
executors, administrators, and assigns, unless the context requires
a different construction), to use and occupy a part of the foreshore
and land below low-water mark at Taieri Mouth in the Taieri
River, as shown on approved plan marked M.D. 2963, and
deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington,
for the purpose of maintaining a wharf thereon as shown on the
said plan, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the licensees
upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the
Schedule thereto.

SCHEDULE
Conditions

  1. This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regulations
    1940, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far as applicable, apply hereto.
  2. The term of the licence shall be fourteen years from the
    1st day of June, 1948.
  3. The premium payable by the licensees shall be one pound
    (f£1), and the annual sum so payable by the licensees shall be ten
    shillings (10s.).
  4. The master of every vessel discharging ballast at the said
    wharf shall have all such ballast taken away and deposited above
    high-water mark, or at such place as may be approved by the
    Minister or by any person appointed by the Minister for that
    purpose.

The Bluff Milk District Constitution Order 1948

ORDER IN COUNCIL

June, 1948
Present :
THE RIGHT Hon. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by
the Milk Act, 1944, His Excellency the Governor-General,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council,
doth hereby order and declare as follows :-

  1. This Order may be cited as the Bluff Milk District Constitution Order 1948.
  2. The Borough of Bluff is hereby constituted and declared
    a milk district under the Milk Act, 1944, as from the first day
    of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, with the name
    of the "Bluff Milk District".
  3. The Milk Authority of the said milk district shall be the
    Bluff Borough Council.

Appointing Member of the Tauranga Harbour Board

WHEREAS it is provided by the twenty-eighth section of the
Harbours Act, 1923, that if any constituent district or
combined district fails at any election to elect the required number
of representatives the Governor-General may, by Warrant under
his hand, appoint such qualified persons as he thinks fit to be the
representatives of that district in lieu of those who ought to have
been elected; and the persons so appointed shall hold office in all
respects as if they had been duly elected in conformity with the
said Act ;
And whereas it is provided by the said Act that one member
of the Tauranga Harbour Board shall be elected by the electors of
the County of Rotorua :
And whereas at the elections held on the nineteenth day of
November, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, the electors
of the said Harbour District failed to elect a member to the said
Board :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore-recited
power and authority, doth hereby appoint

Norman Darcy Day
to be a member of the Tauranga Harbour Board, to fill the vacancy
caused by the before-mentioned failure to elect.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 4th day of June, 1948.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the three-
hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act,
1927, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
notify and declare that the persons whose names are set out in the
Schedule hereto, being officers in the service of the Crown holding
the offices stated opposite their names respectively in the said
Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations
under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the

Captain R. D. Richards is posted to the Reserve of Officers,
Supplementary List. Dated 3rd June, 1948.
Temp. Major D. P. Wakefield, from the N.Z. Temporary Staff,
is granted a short-service commission for a period of three years
as from 1st April, 1948, in the rank of Captain, with seniority from
31st March, 1944. Dated 1st April, 1948.
