At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 2nd day of
June, 1948
Present:
The Right Hon. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the
Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928,
His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke an Order in Council
dated the eighteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and
forty-one, and published in the Gazette of the twenty-sixth day of
that month, appointing a Domain Board to control the Seddonville
Soldiers' Memorial Park Domain, and doth hereby appoint

John Henry Currie,
Augustine John Ryan,
Doretta Irene Harlen,
Norman Harmon,
George Russell Quinn,
David Henery Edward Gear,
Frank Forman,
John Thomas Dove, and
George Isaac Geddes

to be the Seddonville Soldiers' Memorial Park Domain Board,
having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and
doth hereby appoint Monday, the twenty-first day of June, one
thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, at eight o'clock p.m. as
the time when, and the Seddonville Hall, Seddonville, as the place
where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

Recreation Reserve in Southland Land District brought under Part II
of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928

June, 1948

THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the
thirty-fourth section of the Public Reserves, Domains, and
National Parks Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril
Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that the reserve for
recreation in the Southland Land District described in the Schedule
hereto shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation
of and declared to be subject to the provisions of Part II of the said
Act, and such reserve shall hereafter be known as the Thornbury
Domain, and be managed, administered, and dealt with as a public
domain.

SCHEDULE
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 3 acres 1 rood 21.7
perches, more or less, being Lot 4 on the plan numbered 3923 and
deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Invercargill,
and being part of Section 22, Block VII, Jacobs River Hundred,
and being also all of the land in Certificate of Title, Volume 165,
folio 232 (Southland Land Registry). As the same is more particularly
delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/1161, deposited
in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington,
and thereon edged red.

June, 1948
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the
thirty-fourth section of the Public Reserves, Domains, and
National Parks Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril
Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that the reserve
for recreation in the Nelson Land District described in the Schedule
hereto shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation
of and declared to be subject to the provisions of Part II of the
said Act, and such reserve shall hereafter be known as the East
Takaka Domain, and be managed, administered, and dealt with as
a public domain.

ALL that area in the Takaka County, containing by admeasurement
1 acre 1 rood 25 perches, more or less, being part of Section 24,
Square 11, situated in Block III, Takaka Survey District, as shown
on the plan numbered 3792, deposited in the office of the District
Land Registrar at Nelson. As the same is more particularly
delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/1187, deposited in the
Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington,
and thereon bordered red.

Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Kohuratahi Public Hall Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 9th day of
June, 1948
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto was, by
Warrant dated the twenty-fourth day of January, one
thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, and published in Gazette
of the first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-
three, permanently reserved for a site for a public hall: And
whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve should be
vested in a special Board as hereinafter provided:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in
exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section
seventeen of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks
Act, 1928, doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in
the Schedule hereto for the period of five years from the date hereof
(unless previously amended or revoked under the said Act) in the
undermentioned persons, namely,
Herbert William Claud Hight,
George Edward Stockwell,
Eric Donald Cleland,
Kenneth David Saunders Hight, and
Donald James Law,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the
name of the Kohuratahi Public Hall Board (hereinafter referred to
as the Board), with the powers and subject to the conditions
hereinafter contained, that is to say:-

  1. The first meeting of the Board shall be held on Wednesday,
    the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and forty-
    eight, at eight o'clock p.m., at the Kohuratahi Public Hall, and
    meetings shall be held thereafter at such other time or place as may
    from time to time be fixed by the Board.
  2. The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and
    thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one of
    themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and
    shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall
    hold office until the election of his successor.
  3. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman,
    provided that two days' notice of any such meeting is given to each
    member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special
    meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be
    transacted at such meeting.
  4. Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any
    meeting may be adjourned from time to time.
  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time
    appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose
    one of their number to be Chairman of such meeting.
  6. If by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise the seat
    of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents
    himself without reasonable cause from three consecutive meetings
    of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint
    any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.
  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes
    of the members of the Board present at a meeting.
  8. The Board shall have prepared and submitted at an annual
    meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of the
    proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the thirty-
    first day of March, together with a statement of the receipts and
    expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report
    and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent
    to the Minister of Lands as soon as possible after each annual meeting.
  9. The Board shall control the said reserve and the building
    erected thereon for the purposes of a public hall, and shall also
    afford settlers and residents of Kohuratahi and the surrounding
    district such facilities for meeting within the said hall as may from
    time to time be determined by the Board: Provided that the
    Board shall have power to fix reasonable charges for the use of the
    said hall.
