to be Registrar of Marriages and of Births and Deaths for the District of Te Puke, on and from the 20th day of May, 1948.

to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Te Horo, on and from the 25th day of May, 1948.

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.--Notice of Intention to take Land

THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby gives notice of his intention to take the land described in the Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 3rd day of August, 1948, as the date on which possession of the land is required, and the 14th day of July, 1948, as the date on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.

SCHEDULE

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land situated in Block IX, Cloudy Bay Survey District, containing by admeasurement three hundred and four (304) acres one (1) rood, more or less, and being Lot 1 on Deposited Plan No. 1336, being also part Sections 110 and 111, Wairau West Registration District, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title; Vol. 39, folio 58 (Marlborough Registry).

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.--Notice of Intention to take Land

THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby gives notice of his intention to take the land described in the Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 22nd day of September, 1948, as the date on which possession of the land is required, and the 14th day of July, 1948, as the date on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.

SCHEDULE

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement ninety-nine (99) acres three (3) roods and thirteen (13) perches, more or less, situated in Block XVI, Cloudy Bay Survey District, being part Section 26; District of Wairau West, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 30, folio 123 (limited as to parcels), (Marlborough Registry), subject to right to construct, deepen, widen, and clean channel, and to other rights for the purpose of river-protection, created by Licence No. 15845 to the Lower Wairau River Board.

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.--Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said Act the land described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 18 on the 8th day of April, 1948, at page 375:
And whereas no objection was made in the manner prescribed by the said Act objecting to the taking of the said land:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee did on the 21st day of May, 1948, make an order determining that the said land is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman or of two or more discharged servicemen:
And whereas no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the land described in the said Schedule is taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 30th day of June, 1948, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT
ALL those parcels of land containing an area of four hundred and sixty-three (463) acres two (2) roods twenty-four decimal five (24·5) perches, more or less (stated to contain four hundred and forty-eight (448) acres one (1) rood thirty-two decimal three (32·3) perches in the Schedule to the Notice of Intention to take Land published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 18 on the 8th day of April, 1948, at page 375), being Sections 271, 272, 273, and 274, and part of Sections 268, 269, 270, 275, 276, 330, and 536, Patea District, situated in Blocks XI and XIV, Hawera Survey District, and being all the land in certificate of title, Vol. 130, folio 265 (limited as to parcels) (subject to an easement created by Deeds of Grant Nos. 30121 and 37633 in favour of the land in certificate of title, Vol. 53, folio 81), all the land in certificate of title, Vol. 53, folio 172, parts of the land in certificate of title, Vol. 130, folio 266 (limited as to parcels), and part of the land in certificate of title, Vol. 133, folio 259 (Taranaki Registry), and more particularly shown on a plan lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor, New Plymouth, as No. 8297, and thereon bordered red.

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.--Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen

WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto, and to which Part III of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies :
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable for the settlement of discharged servicemen :
And whereas the said Committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the said land, did on the 11th day of March, 1948, make an order determining the basic value of the said land :
And whereas an appeal was lodged against such order :
And whereas the Land Sales Court has allowed such appeal in part and has reduced the basic value of the said land :
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship :
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 14th day of July, 1948, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE

HAWKE'S BAY LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement one hundred and fifty-three (153) acres three (3) roods nine decimal seven (9·7) perches, situated in Blocks VIII and XII of the Heretaunga Survey District, being part of the Papakura Block, and being parts of Lot 1 and 3, Deeds Plan 434, and being also the balance of the land in certificate of title, H.B. Vol. 50, folio 276 (limited as to parcels).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement nine (9) acres three (3) roods twenty-nine decimal seven (29·7) perches, situated in Block XII of the Heretaunga Survey District, being part of the Papakura Block, and being part of Lot 17, Deposited Plan 330, and being also part of the land in certificate of title, H.B. Vol. 7, folio 268.
