WESTERN along a right line in the direction of the confluence of the
Waikato and Waipapa Rivers to its intersection with a right line
between the mouth of the Waihora Stream in Lake Taupo and
Trig. Station No. 807 (Uraura), in Block VII, Ngautuku Survey
District; thence northerly along the last-mentioned right line to
Trig. Station 807 (Uraura) aforesaid, along a right line to Trig.
Station No. 27 (Puwhenua), being the point of commencement;
excluding the Borough of Rotorua, as described in the New Zealand
Gazette, 1946, on page 1085.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the
Seal of that Dominion, this 2nd day of June, 1948.

Proclaiming Maori Land to be vested in His Majesty the King

[L.S.] B. C. FREYBERG, Governor-General

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section four hundred and fifty of the Maori
Land Act, 1931, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril
Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby proclaim and declare that the Maori land described in
the Schedule hereto is vested in His Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE

ALL that piece of land containing 996 acres 3 roods, more or less,
called or known as Rotoiti No. 3M Block, situated in Blocks III,
IV, and VII, Rotoiti Survey District, being the whole of the land
comprised in Provisional Register, Volume 120, folio 11 (Auckland
Registry).

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the
Seal of that Dominion, this 1st day of June, 1948.

Proclaiming a Tribal District under the Maori Social and Economic
Advancement Act, 1945

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section six of the Maori Social and Economic
Advancement Act, 1945, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard
Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby declare the parts of New Zealand described in
the Schedule hereto to be a tribal district for the purposes of the
said Act, and do hereby assign to the said district the name
"Arawa No. 2 Tribal District."

SCHEDULE

THE ARAWA NO. 2 TRIBAL DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, comprising the
Rotorua County, part of the Taupo County, and part of the
Whakatane County, bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station
No. 27 (Puwhenua), being the eastern corner of Block VII, Tapapa
East Survey District; thence north-westerly along a right line in
the direction of Trig. Station No. 146 (Te Weraiti), being the
western corner of Block IV, Opoutihi Survey District, to its inter-
section with the production of a right line between the north-
eastern corner of Section 2, Block XI, Waihi South Survey District,
and Trig. Station 1039 (Otanewainuku), situated in Block XVI,
Otanewainuku Survey District; thence easterly to and along the
last-mentioned right line to the said Trig. Station 1039 (Otane-
wainuku), being a point on the boundary of the Arawa No. 1 Tribal
District, as described in the New Zealand Gazette, 1948, on page 215 ;
thence along the southern and eastern boundaries of that district
to the sea-coast; thence south-easterly along the sea-coast to a
point on the production of a right line between Mount Edgecumbe
Trig. Station in Block XIII, Rangataiki Upper Survey District,
and the westernmost corner of Allotment 110, Rangitaiki Parish,
in Block VI, Awaateatua Survey District; thence southerly to
and along the said right line to Mount Edgecumbe Trig. Station
aforesaid; thence southerly along a right line to Trig. Station H,
in Block V, Galatea Survey District; thence south-westerly along
a right line to Trig. Station 38A, in Block IX, Kaingaroa Survey
District; thence southerly along a right line to the northernmost
corner of Kaingaroa No. 1A North Block and the western boundary
of that block to its westernmost corner; thence westerly along the
southern boundary of Paeroa East No. 3c Block, along the southern
boundary of Paeroa East No. 3A Block and its production to the
middle of the Torepatutahi Stream, down the middle of that stream
and the Waikato River to its confluence with the Whangapoa
Stream; thence north-westerly along a right line to Trig. Station
F (Ngautuku), in Block VI, Te Atiamuri Survey District; thence
