Revoking the Declaration of Main Highways and declaring Public Highways to be Main Highways

THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section three of the Main Highways Act, 1922, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that, on and after the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, the main highways described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be main highways, and doth further declare that the roads described in the Second Schedule shall be main highways within the meaning and for the purposes of the Main Highways Act, 1922.
FIRST SCHEDULE
HIGHWAY DISTRICT No. 1
Dargaville-Kaihu.—All that portion of main highway in the Hobson County, declared as the Dargaville-Kaihu via Awakino and Mamaranui Main Highway and the Dargaville-Kaihu Main Highway, described in Orders in Council dated 2nd July, 1928, and 16th December, 1935, and published in the Gazette on 5th July, 1928, and 19th December, 1935, respectively.
Waipoua Forest.—All that main highway in the Hobson and Hokianga Counties declared as the Waipoua Forest Main Highway, described in Order in Council dated 20th July, 1931, and published in the Gazette on 23rd July, 1931.
Waimamuku-Ohaeawai.—All that main highway in the Hokianga and Bay of Island Counties and Kaikohe Town District, declared as the Waimamuku-Ohaeawai Main Highway, described in Orders in Council dated 9th June, 1924, 8th November, 1939, 28th February, 1940, and 2nd October, 1940, and published in the Gazette on 12th June, 1924, 9th November, 1939, 7th March, 1940, and 10th October, 1940, respectively.

Thames-Paeroa.—All that portion of main highway in the Paeroa Borough, declared as portion of the Thames-Paeroa Main Highway, described in Order in Council dated 2nd October, 1940, and published in the Gazette on 10th October, 1940.
Pairere-Kaimai via Hinuera.—All that main highway in the Matamata County, declared as the Pairere-Kaimai via Hinuera Main Highway, described in Order in Council dated 2nd April, 1928, and published in the Gazette on 5th April, 1928.
Kumara-Parahaka.—All that main highway in the Waitomo County, declared as the Kumara-Paraheka Main Highway, described in Order in Council dated 2nd April, 1928, and published in the Gazette on 5th April, 1928.
Kauroa - Te Mata.—All that main highway in the Raglan County, declared as the Kauroa - Te Mata Main Highway, described in Order in Council dated 2nd July, 1928, and published in the Gazette on 5th July, 1928.
Matamata-Tauranga.—All that main highway in the Matamata County and Matamata Borough, declared as the Matamata-Tauranga Main Highway, described in Order in Council dated 2nd October, 1940, and published in the Gazette on 10th October, 1940.
Kawhia-Wharepuhanga via Kawa.—All that main highway in the Otorohanga and Kawhia Counties, declared as the Kawhia-Wharepuhanga via Kawa Main Highway, described in Order in Council dated 2nd October, 1940, and published in the Gazette on 10th October, 1940.
Waitoa-Wairakei.—All that main highway in the Piako and Matamata Counties, the Matamata Borough, and Putaruru Town District, declared as the Waitoa-Wairakei Main Highway, described in Order in Council dated 2nd October, 1940, and published in the Gazette on 10th October, 1940.
Pio Pio - Tatu via Aria and Ohura.—All that main highway in the Waitomo County, declared as the Pio Pio - Tatu via Aria and Ohura Main Highway, described in Order in Council dated 7th September, 1925, and published in the Gazette on 10th September, 1925.
