IN the notice of the result of the election of members of certain Rabbit Boards, published in the Gazette No. 70 of 27th November, 1947, page 1838, for “John Francis” under the name of the Southern Hawke’s Bay Rabbit Board, read “John Francis Syme.”

Allocating Land taken for a Railway to the Purposes of a Street at Upper Hutt
[L.S.] B. C. FREYBERG, Governor-General
A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of land taken for the purposes of the Wellington–Napier Railway, and it is considered desirable to allocate such land to the purposes of a street :
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section two hundred and twenty-six of the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a street, and that the said street shall be under the control of the Upper Hutt Borough Council, and shall be maintained by the said Council in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Council.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land : 2 roods 3·09 perches.
Being Railway land ; formerly part of Section 128, Hutt District.
Situated in Block I, Rimutaka Survey District, Upper Hutt Borough. (S.O. 21621.)

In the Wellington Land District ; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 9138, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured sepia.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 22nd day of December, 1947.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall hereby taken for the purposes of the Foxton – New Plymouth Railway.
