Member of the Dairy Factory Managers’ Registration Board appointed.—(Notice No. Ag. 4504)
PURSUANT to the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 3:2 of the Dairy Factory Managers Regulations 1941, the Minister of Agriculture doth hereby appoint, on the recommendation of the New Zealand Dairy Factories’ Employees’ Union—
David Andrew Fitzgerald, being the holder of a certificate issued and for the time being in force under the said regulations,
to be a member of the Dairy Factory Managers’ Registration Board established under the said regulations.

Nominations for Appointment to the Footwear Plan Industrial Committee under the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936
PURSUANT to section 10 of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936, and to Regulation 7 of the Industrial Efficiency (Footwear) Regulations 1948, I, Arnold Henry Nordmeyer, Minister of Industries and Commerce, do hereby give public notice of my intention to appoint members of an Industrial Committee in connection with the footwear-manufacturing industry as defined in the Industry Licensing (Footwear-manufacture) Notice 1939, as amended by the Industry Licensing (Footwear-manufacture) Notice 1939, Amendment No. 1, and do hereby call upon the licensees and the workers engaged in the industry respectively to submit to me in writing not later than the 15th day of April, 1948, a list of persons from which they desire me to select and appoint their respective representatives on the committee, as provided for in the above-mentioned regulations, and I do hereby appoint the New Zealand Footwear Manufacturers’ Federation and the New Zealand Federated Footwear Trade Industrial Association of Workers to act as agents for the purpose of receiving such nominations on behalf of the said licensees and said workers respectively, and of transmitting the same to me.

Fixing Date on which certain Returns under the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, are to be furnished to the North Shore Fire Board

PURSUANT to section 28 of the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, it is hereby notified that the returns showing the total gross amount of the premiums received by or due to fire-insurance companies during the year ended 31st December, 1947, in respect of insurances held by such companies within the North Shore Fire District shall be transmitted to the North Shore Fire Board in the manner prescribed by the said section on or before the 30th day of April, 1948.

Special Order made by the Rodney County Council altering Riding Boundaries and adjusting Representation

Wellington, 22nd March, 1948.
THE following special order made by the Rodney County Council is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1920, in so far as publication is required by that Act. Pursuant to section 100 of the aforesaid Act, as amended by section 3 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1921–22, I hereby fix the 1st day of April, 1948, as the date from which the redivision of the county into ten ridings as set out in the said special order shall take effect.

SPECIAL ORDER
In exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Counties Act, 1920, the Rodney County Council resolves, by way of special order, as follows:—
“1. The present division of the County of Rodney into nine ridings is revoked, and in lieu thereof the said county shall be divided into ten ridings, to be called respectively Albert Riding, Arai Riding, Hoteo Riding, Kaipara Riding, Kourawhero Riding, Matakana Riding, Omaha Riding, Puhoi Riding, Tauhoa Riding, and Wellsford Riding, which said ridings are respectively described in the Schedule hereto.
“2. The said Rodney County Council shall consist of ten members, who shall be elected as follows:—
“The electors of each riding shall elect one Councillor.
“3. The alteration hereby made shall take effect on and after the 1st day of April, 1948.
“SCHEDULE
“The present boundaries of the Albert and Hoteo Ridings shall be altered by excluding therefrom certain sections and such excluded sections to constitute the Wellsford Riding.
“The boundaries of the ridings hereinbefore mentioned shall be as follows:—
“NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
“Wellsford Riding
“All that area in the Rodney County, situated in Blocks XII and XVI, Otamatea Survey District, bounded by a line commencing at the westernmost corner of Section 2 of Block XII, Otamatea Survey District, and running southerly generally along the south-western boundary of the said Section 2, and along a right line being that boundary produced across a public road, to and along the western boundary of Section 32, Block XVI, Otamatea Survey District, to its south-western corner; thence along a right line running due south to a point on the southern side of the Wellsford-Leigh Main Highway; thence along the generally eastern boundaries of Sections 35, 36, and 37, and the generally eastern and southern boundaries of Section 39, all of Block XVI aforesaid, to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 42 of the said Block XVI; thence along a right line across a public road, to and along the said western boundary, and along the northern and western boundaries of Lot 3, as shown on the plan numbered 26817, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, being part of Section 30 of Block XVI aforesaid, to the westernmost corner of the said Lot 3; thence westerly generally along a right line to a point on the western side of the Birkenhead-Maungaturoto State Highway, being the southernmost corner of Section 60 of the said Block XVI, and along another right line to the north-western corner of part of Section 7 of the said Block XVI, as shown on the plan numbered 26822, deposited as aforesaid; thence north-westerly along a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section 6 of the said Block XVI, and along the southern side of the Port Albert-Wellsford Main Highway to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 2, as shown on the plan numbered 1618, deposited as aforesaid, being part of Section 9 of the said Block XVI; thence along a right line across the said highway to and along the said north-eastern boundary to the northernmost corner of the said Lot 2; thence northerly generally along a right line to a point on the north-eastern boundary of Allotment 127, Parish of Oruawharo, in line with the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 126 of the said parish; thence along a right line across a public road, to and along the said south-eastern boundary, and along another right line across another public road, to and along the south-eastern boundary of the eastern portion of Allotment 120, Oruawharo Parish, to the westernmost corner of the northern portion of Allotment 119 of the said parish; thence easterly generally along the generally southern and south-eastern boundaries of the said northern portion of Allotment 119 to its easternmost corner, crossing the intersecting Birkenhead-Maungaturoto State Highway, and along a right line across a public road, to and along the southern boundaries of the north-western and north-eastern portions of Allotment 118 of the said parish, to and along the western and south-eastern boundaries of Allotment 117, Parish of Oruawharo, crossing the North Auckland Main Trunk Railway, to the westernmost corner of Section 2 aforesaid, being the point of commencement.
