NAPIER BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Napier Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:-
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £1,680, known as 'Earthquake Repair Renewal Loan, 1948,' authorized to be raised by the Napier Borough Council under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of paying in part the instalment of £1,687 17s. 11d., due and payable under the Earthquake Damage Repair Loan (No. 3) of £4,500, 1937, on the 31st day of March, 1948, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven one-hundredths (7/100ths) of a penny (d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the Borough of Napier; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 17th day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of five (5) years or until the loan is paid off."
Certified a true copy of a resolution passed by the Napier Borough Council at a meeting held on the 23rd February, 1948.
