A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section thirty-five of the Public Works Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1924.

Suspending as to Part the Provisions of Section 2 of the Tramways Amendment Act, 1910, in respect of the Tramways within the Auckland Tramway District

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section six of the Tramways Amendment Act, 1913, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby suspend the operation of section two of the Tramways Amendment Act, 1910, in respect of the tramways situated within the Auckland Tramway District, constituted under the Tramways Act, 1908, in so far as the said section requires that every application for examination as a motorman shall be accompanied by a certificate signed by the manager of some electric tramway that the applicant has served as a conductor on an electric tramway in New Zealand for a period of not less than one year.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 3rd day of March, 1948.

Proclaiming a Road-line laid off in Blocks X and XI, East Cape Survey District, Gisborne Land District, to be a Public Road

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto was, by an order of the Maori Land Court made on the eighth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, duly laid off as a road-line in pursuance of section four hundred and seventy-nine of the Maori Land Act, 1931:

And whereas the said Court is of the opinion that it is in the public interest that the said road-line should be proclaimed as a public road; and a notification to that effect has been forwarded to the Minister of Lands, in terms of section four hundred and eighty-six of the said Act:

And whereas one month’s notice in writing of the intention to proclaim the said road-line as a public road has been given by the Surveyor-General to the local authority of the district concerned, in terms of subsection two of section four hundred and eighty-seven of the said Act:

And whereas it is now expedient that the said road-line should be proclaimed as a public road:

Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section four hundred and eighty-seven of the Maori Land Act, 1931, do hereby proclaim as a public road the road-line described in the Schedule hereto.
