CROWN LANDS NOTICES
Reserve in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Lease
District Lands and Survey Office,
Napier, 16th February, 1948.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned reserve is open for leasing under the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 5th April, 1948.
In the event of there being more than one applicant the successful lessee may be determined by ballot, which will be held on Thursday, 8th April, 1948.
The successful applicant will be required to pay immediately a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee (£1 1s.).

SCHEDULE
HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT
Wairoa County
SECTION 25, Block III, Mahanga Survey District: Area, 1 acre. Annual rental, £1.
Situated in the Opoutama Township about half a mile from post-office, store, school, and railway-station, this section is suitable for a camping-site or a holiday camp. Conveniences have been erected on the ground and water is laid on. The successful applicant will be required to arrange with the Wairoa County Council for the use of these facilities.
Abstract of Conditions of Lease
(1) Possession will be given at date of sale.
(2) Term of lease will be ten years from 1st July, 1948, with a right of renewal for one further term of ten years.
(3) Rent payable half-yearly in advance on the 1st day of January and July each year.
(4) Lessee to obtain the prior consent of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Napier, before effecting improvements.
(5) Lessee to have no right of compensation for improvements, which may be removed on termination of the lease.
(6) Lessee to have the right to cultivate the land and erect buildings thereon with consent of the Commissioner.
(7) Lessee to be liable for payment of rates, taxes, and other assessments accruing on the said land.
(8) Lessee to have no right to sublet, transfer, or otherwise dispose of the demised land without the prior written consent of the said Commissioner.
(9) Lessee to clear the land and keep it cleared from all noxious weeds.
(10) Lessee not to engage in any noxious, noisome, or offensive trade.
(11) Lessee to maintain all buildings, fences, &c., in good substantial repair to the satisfaction of the said Commissioner.
(12) Lease to be liable to termination if the lessee fails to fulfil any conditions of the lease, whether expressed or implied, within thirty days after the date on which same should be fulfilled.

Land in Wellington Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures
District Lands and Survey Office,
Wellington, 17th February, 1948.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Thursday, 18th March, 1948.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, on Wednesday, 24th March, 1948, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands. Applicants are required to produce evidence of their financial position and farming experience.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and weighting for improvements.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND
Wanganui County.—Waipakura Survey District
SECTIONS 5 to 10, Block X: Area, 62 acres 2 roods 37 perches. Capital value, £30. Deposit on deferred payments, £5: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term: ten years), £1 12s. 10d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, 12s.
Weighted with £45 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising fencing, scrub-cutting, grassing, and plantation.
Sections are contiguous and situated eleven miles from Aramoho Railway-station and Post-office, and fourteen miles from Wanganui Saleyards. The country is mostly steep, with small areas of flat and easy slope. Sections are badly infested with scrub and gorse, and are unsuitable as a separate holding.

NOTICE is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto has been acquired under the Forests Act, 1921–22, for the purposes of a permanent State forest.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—SOUTHLAND CONSERVANCY
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, Bruce County, containing by admeasurement 437 acres 2 roods 29 perches, more or less, being Section 11, Block IX, and Sections 18, 19, and 20, and part of Section 17, Block X, Clarendon Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Towards the north by Section 12, Block IX aforesaid; towards the east by Section 1, Block IX aforesaid, and Section 12, Block X aforesaid; towards the south and east by Section 11, Block X aforesaid; and towards the south, south-west, and north-west by public roads. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 215/9, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
