NOTICE TO DEBENTURE-HOLDERS OF INTENTION TO EXERCISE OPTION

In the matter of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932-33, and the Dunedin City Loans Conversion Order, 1934.

IN pursuance and exercise of section 16 of the Dunedin City Loans Conversion Order, 1934, and the terms under which securities authorized by the said Order were issued, the Dunedin City Council at a meeting held on the 20th day of October, 1947, resolved to exercise the option contained in the securities in respect of the following debentures maturing on the 1st day of April, 1951, viz.:-

Debentures numbers 10731 to 11679, each of £100, making a total face value of £94,900, maturing on the 1st day of April, 1951.

And public notice is accordingly hereby given of the Dunedin City Council's intention to redeem such debentures of the said loan on the 1st day of April, 1948, and interest thereon will cease on the said day.

PURSUANT to section 42 of the Rating Act, 1925, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Opunake taken on the 19th day of November, 1947, on the proposal to abandon the system of rating property on the basis of the unimproved value in the Borough of Opunake, the number of votes recorded was as follows:-

WAITAKI COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Kurow Water-supply Renewal Loan, 1948, £1,700

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Waitaki County Council hereby resolves as follows:-

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of one thousand seven hundred pounds (£1,700), authorized to be raised by the Waitaki County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of redeeming at maturity the outstanding liability in respect of the Kurow Water-supply Loan, 1937, the said Waitaki County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1·72 pence in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the special rating area, comprising the Township of Kurow; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years or until the loan is fully paid off."
