THE following special order made by the Clutha County Council
on the 28th day of October, 1947, is published in accordance
with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.
SPECIAL ORDER
"In exercise of the powers conferred by the Noxious Weeds Act,
1928, the Clutha County Council hereby resolves and declares, by
way of special order, that hemlock (Conium maculatum) is a noxious
weed within the Clutha County."

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.-Notice of
Intention to take Land
THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the
Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby
gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the Schedule
hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 2nd day of
June, 1948, as the date on which possession of the land is required,
and the 12th day of January, 1948, as the date on or before which
objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land situated in Block XVI, Opaheke Survey
District, containing by admeasurement three (3) acres one (1) rood
twenty (20) perches, more or less, being Allotment 212, Koheroa
Parish, and being all of the land described in certificate of title,
Vol. 275, folio 46 (Auckland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land situated in Block XVI, Opaheke
Survey District, Block VII, Wharekawa Survey District, Block IV,
Maramarua Survey District, and Block I, Piako Survey District,
containing by admeasurement one thousand seven hundred and
ninety-four (1,794) acres and twenty-two (22) perches, more or less,
being Allotment 56 and part of Allotment 54, Koheroa Parish, and
being all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 569, folio
295, limited as to parcels (Auckland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land situated in Block VII, Wharekawa
Survey District, and Block I, Piako Survey District, containing by
admeasurement two hundred and fifty-two (252) acres and nineteen
(19) perches, more or less, being Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 26455,
being part of Allotment 153, Koheroa Parish, and being all of the
land described in certificate of title, Vol. 693, folio 376 (Auckland
Registry).
Also all that parcel of land situated in Block I, Piako Survey
District, containing by admeasurement one hundred and one (101)
acres one (1) rood thirty-five (35) perches, more or less, being Lot 2
on Deposited Plan 11912, being part of Allotment 47, Maramarua
Parish, and being all of the land described in certificate of title,
Vol. 694, folio 365 (Auckland Registry).

Special Arrangements for the Provision of Medical and Pharmaceutical Services for the Residents of Blackball Special Area
Office of the Minister of Health,
Wellington, 12th November, 1947.
I, MABEL BOWDEN HOWARD, Minister of Health, hereby
notify for general information that, pursuant to section 82
of the Social Security Act, 1938, as extended by section 15 of the
Finance Act (No. 4), 1940, I have made special arrangements by
which all persons usually resident in the district described in the
Schedule hereto (hereinafter referred to as the said district) are,
on and after the 1st day of July, 1947, entitled to receive without
charge, at the hands of Bernard Hugh Stanley Aylward, of Blackball,
Registered Medical Practitioner, all such medical and pharmaceutical
requirements as are provided as benefits in accordance with the
Social Security (Medical Benefits) Regulations 1941, the Social
Security General Medical Services Regulations 1941, and the Social
Security (Pharmaceutical Supplies) Regulations 1941.
In accordance with the provisions of section 82 (2) of the Social
Security Act, 1938, the general provisions of the aforementioned
regulations in relation to medical and pharmaceutical supplies
will not be applicable to residents of the said district for the time
being provided for by the special arrangements notified herein.
SCHEDULE
ALL that portion of the Grey County, bounded by a line commencing
at the mouth of Ruby Creek on the right bank of the Grey River;
thence north-westerly up Ruby Creek to its source; thence northerly
generally to and along the Paparoa Range, passing through Hawera,
White Knight, and Mount Pecksniff; thence southerly generally
along the ridge to near the source of the Craigieburn, to and down
the Craigieburn to the Grey River; thence across that river and down
its left bank to a point due west of Trig. Station Ahaura; thence
easterly along a right line to that trig. station; thence easterly
and south-easterly generally along the range between the Grey
and Ahaura Rivers, passing through Mount Elliott, Mount Hoch-
stetter, and Mount Novaro to Mount Barron; thence south-
westerly along the Southern Alps, passing through Amuri Pass and
Hope Pass to Harper's Pass; thence westerly and north-westerly
generally along the range, passing through Mount Wilson, Mount
Dixon, Trig. Station X, Bryan O'Lynn, in Block XI, Kapara Survey
District, to Trig. Station Bell Hill, in Block VI, Kapara Survey
District; thence north-westerly along a right line to the mouth of
Ruby Creek, the point of commencement.
