HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotion, resignation, cancellation of commission, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces :—

N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF
Temp. Lieutenant R. Q. Quentin-Baxter, from the Canterbury Regiment, to be Hon. Captain, and is seconded to the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force for special duty with the International Prosecution Section for the trial of the far eastern war criminals at the headquarters of the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers in Tokyo. Dated 13th May, 1947.

TERRITORIAL FORCE
THE ROYAL N.Z. INFANTRY CORPS
The Hauraki Regiment
The commission granted to temp. Lieutenant R. Hoani, M.M., is hereby cancelled. Dated 7th June, 1947.

The North Auckland Regiment
Lieutenant (temp. Major) J. A. Maich, from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be temp. Captain, with seniority from 1st February, 1945, and is seconded to the Dargaville District High School Cadets, Area 3. Dated 27th September, 1947.

The Wellington West Coast Regiment
Ralph Thomas Woodfield to be 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.), and is seconded to the Ohakune District High School Cadets, Area 6. Dated 10th October, 1947.

The Hawke’s Bay Regiment
With reference to the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 40, dated 24th July, 1947, relative to the appointment of Hon. Lieutenant (Bandmaster) for “Thomas William Leighton,” substitute “Thomas William Lighton.”

The Taranaki Regiment
The undermentioned to be 2nd Lieutenants (on prob.), and are seconded to the New Plymouth Boys’ High School Cadets, Area 8 :—

Temp. Senior Commander E. Gray relinquishes the full time appointment of W.A.A.C. Commandant, Southern Military District, dated 19th November, 1947, and is appointed District Commandant, W.A.A.C. (Territorial Force), Southern Military District, in an honorary capacity, dated 20th November, 1947.

Sister P. F. Tully, N. Z. Army Nursing Service, and is reposted to the Territorial Force with the rank of Sister, with seniority from 10th May, 1946. Dated 21st October, 1947.
