HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to subsection three of section twenty-nine of the
Finance Act (No. 2), 1945, His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby declare deer destruction and purposes necessarily
incidental thereto to be a public work for the purposes of the Public
Works Act, 1928.

Polling-places for the Westland Electoral District appointed

In pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred upon
me by the Electoral Act, 1927, I, Lieutenant-General Sir
Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby abolish all existing polling-places
and do hereby appoint the places mentioned in the Schedule
hereto to be the polling-places in the said Electoral District
of Westland.

Appointment of Members of Waterfront Industry Commission

Pursuant to the Waterfront Industry Emergency Regulations
1946, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
appoint—
Douglas James Dalglish, Esquire, Deputy Judge of the Court
of Arbitration, to be the Chairman of the Waterfront
Industry Commission ; and
George Leslie Almond, of New Plymouth ; and
Henry Alexander Anderson, of Wellington (nominated by the
New Zealand Waterside Employers’ Association Industrial
Association of Employers) ; and
John Flood, of Lyttelton ; and
Roger James O'Donnell, of Wellington (nominated by the
New Zealand Waterside Workers’ Industrial Union of
Workers) ; and
John Oldham Johnson, of Wellington (Government member),
to be members of the Commission.
All the aforesaid appointments to be for a term of five years
commencing on the 10th day of November, 1947.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 6th day of November, 1947.

approve the transfer of Lieutenant John Foster McKenzie,
