ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 5th day of November, 1947
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by section forty of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that from and after the first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, the public domains described in the Schedules hereto shall be united to form one public domain, to be known as the Ohakune Domain.
FIRST SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.-OHAKUNE DOMAIN
ALL those areas containing a total area of 20 acres 2 roods 30 perches, more or less, being Lots 1 and 4 of Section 28, Block VIII, Makotuku Survey District.
Also all that area containing 2 roods, more or less, being part Section 7, Ohakune Village Settlement, bounded as follows : Commencing at a point on Mangawhero Terrace, bearing 220° 36' and distant 251.57 links from the westernmost corner of Section 9, Ohakune Village Settlement; thence along right lines bearing 131° 44' 15” distance 276.99 links, bearing 221° 44' 15” distance 181.89 links, and bearing 311° 44' 15” distance 270.92 links to Mangawhero Terrace ; and thence along Mangawhero Terrace to the point of commencement.
As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/713, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
SECOND SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—OHAKUNE LAKES DOMAIN
ALL that area situated in Waimarino County, containing by admeasurement 92 acres 1 rood 25-3 perches, more or less, being part Section 24c, Block VIII, Makotuku Survey District: Bounded towards the north-east and south-east by Rangataua Road; towards the south-west by Section 22, Block VIII; and towards the north-west by Section 24B and by the other part of Section 24c (Cemetery Reserve), Block VIII, Makotuku Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/169, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
THIRD SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—ROCHFORT PARK DOMAIN
SECTION 5, Block IV Makotuku Survey District : Area, 8 acres 2 roods, more or less.
Also Lot 1 of Section 18, Ohakune Village Settlement : Area, 6 acres 2 roods 32 perches, more or less.
Also Section 27, Block XX, Town of Ohakune : Area, 1 rood 0.24 perches, more or less.
As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/518, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Exempting Leasehold Interest (Education Reserve) in the Southland Land District from the Operation of Part III of the Coal-mines Act, 1925

WHEREAS His Majesty the King, for the purposes of Part III of the Coal-mines Act, 1925, is registered as the proprietor of an estate of leasehold in the land described in the Schedule hereto : And whereas the said leasehold interest is no longer required for the purposes of Part III of the Coal-mines Act, 1925 : Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by subsection two of section one hundred and seventy-one of the Coal-mines Act, 1925, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, do hereby declare that the said leasehold interest shall be exempt from the operation of Part III of the Coal-mines Act, 1925, and do hereby further declare that this notice shall take effect as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
SCHEDULE
All that piece or parcel of land situate in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 28 acres 3 roods, more or less, being Lot 1 on Deposited Plan No. 2674, and being part of Section 20, Block III, Wairio Survey District, and being all the and in Lease No. 9273 registered in the Land Registry Office at Southland.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 24th day of October, 1947.

Declaring Crown Land in the Otago Land District to be subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto (hereinafter referred to as the said land) is Crown land not acquired under the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, but is adjacent to certain land acquired under the said Act, and known as the Manuherikia Settlement and can conveniently be disposed of therewith :
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and five of the said Act, and on the recommendation of the Land Settlement Board, and after considering the report of the Otago District Land Board, do hereby declare the said land to be subject to the said Act, to the intent that it shall hereupon be deemed to be portion of the said Manuherikia Settlement and may be disposed of accordingly.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT
SECTION 1330R, Blocks VII and IX, Leaning Rock Survey District : Area, 1 acre 3 roods 36 perches.

Lieutenant Bryce Harbin Clinkard, R.N., lent Royal New Zealand Navy, and appointed H.M.N.Z.S. “Philomel” for passage to New Zealand, to date 23rd August, 1947.
Lieutenant Brian Edmund Turner, promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander, to date 14th August, 1947.
Lieutenant (E) Kenneth John Douglas-Morris, R.N., appointed H.M.N.Z.S. “Philomel” for duty in H.M.N.Z.S. “Black Prince” as Engineer Officer vice Andrewes; granted the acting rank of Lieutenant-Commander (E) whilst holding this appointment, to date from 9th September, 1947.

Sub-Lieutenant (S) Robert Gillespie Adams, promoted to the rank of Lieutenant (S) and reappointed H.M.N.Z.S. “Philomel,” to date 9th October, 1946.
Mr. Morris Aaron Lawson, confirmed in the rank of Warrant Writer Officer with seniority of 18th July, 1946.
Joseph Henry Dobbyn, Chief Petty Officer Cook (S); N.Z. 1191, promoted to the rank of Acting Warrant Cookery Officer and appointed H.M.N.Z.S. “Philomel,” to date 5th September, 1947.
ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVAL VOLUNTEER RESERVE
Temporary Surgeon-Lieutenant Ian Sinclair de Berri Broadfoot, M.B., Ch.B., appointed H.M.N.Z.S. “Bellona” as Senior Medical Officer ; granted the acting rank of Temporary Surgeon Lieutenant-Commander whilst holding this appointment, to date from 4th September, 1947.
WOMEN'S ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVAL SERVICE
Miss Elizabeth Thurl Russell, re-entered in the rank of 4th Officer, with original seniority of 5th November, 1945, and appointed H.M.N.Z.S. “Philomel” additional, to date 19th August, 1947.
