Consenting to Additional Land being taken for a Secondary School
in the Borough of Dannevirke

At the Government House at Wellington, this 5th day of November, 1947

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the additional land described in the Schedule hereto being taken for a secondary school.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of additional land permitted to be taken: 1 rood 37·2 perches.

Being part Suburban Section 76, Dannevirke.

Situated in the Borough of Dannevirke (Hawke’s Bay R.D.). (S.O. 2263.)

In the Hawke’s Bay Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 126020, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured orange.

Consenting to the Raising of a Loan of £1,800 by the Mosgiel Borough Council and prescribing the Conditions thereof

At the Government House at Wellington, this 29th day of October, 1947

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the Mosgiel Borough Council (hereinafter called the said local authority) proposes, pursuant to the provisions of section three of the Main Highways Amendment Act, 1928, to borrow the sum of one thousand eight hundred pounds (£1,800), by a loan to be known as “Main Highways Loan, 1947” (hereinafter called the said loan), for the purpose of paying its portion of the cost of sealing the Mosgiel-Middlemarch Main Highway through the borough:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section eleven of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising by the said local authority of the said loan for the said purpose up to the amount of one thousand eight hundred pounds (£1,800), and in giving such consent doth hereby determine as follows:—

(1) The term for which the said loan or any part thereof may be raised shall be three (3) years.

(2) The rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender a rate exceeding three pounds ten shillings (£3 10s.) per centum per annum.

(3) The said loan or any part thereof, together with interest thereon, shall be repaid by equal aggregate annual instalments extending over the term as determined in (1) above.

(4) No moneys shall be borrowed under this consent after the expiration of two years from the date hereof.

Consenting to the Raising of a Loan of £55,000 by the Auckland City Council and prescribing the Conditions thereof

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 29th day of October, 1947

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the Auckland City Council (hereinafter called the said local authority) proposes, pursuant to the terms of a requisition issued under section twenty-two of the Health Act, 1920, to raise a loan of fifty-five thousand pounds (£55,000), to be known as “Crematorium Loan, 1946” (hereinafter called the said loan), for the purpose of carrying out the first stage of the work in connection with the building of a crematorium at the Waikumete Public Cemetery:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section eleven of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising in New Zealand by the said local authority of the said loan for the said purpose up to the amount of fifty-five thousand pounds (£55,000), and in giving such consent doth hereby determine as follows:—

(1) The term for which the said loan or any part thereof may be raised shall not exceed twenty-five (25) years.

(2) The rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a rate or rates exceeding three pounds five shillings (£3 5s.) per centum per annum.

(3) The said loan or any part thereof, together with interest thereon, shall be repaid by equal aggregate annual or half-yearly instalments extending over the term as determined in (1) above.

(4) The payment of such instalments shall be made in New Zealand, and no instalments shall be paid out of loan-moneys.

(5) The rate payable for brokerage, underwriting, and procurement fees in respect of the raising of the said loan or any part thereof shall not in the aggregate exceed one-half per centum of any amount raised.

(6) No moneys shall be borrowed under this consent after the expiration of two years from the date hereof.

WHEREAS the Southland Catchment Board (hereinafter called the said local authority) proposes, pursuant to the provisions of section thirty of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, to raise a loan of five thousand pounds (£5,000), to be known as “Works Loan, 1947” (hereinafter called the said loan), for the purpose of carrying out works approved by the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Council:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section eleven of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising by the said local authority of the said loan for the said purpose up to the amount of five thousand pounds (£5,000), and in giving such consent doth hereby determine as follows:—

(1) The rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender a rate exceeding three pounds ten shillings (£3 10s.) per centum per annum.

(2) The said loan or any part thereof shall be repaid on or prior to the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and fifty.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the South Canterbury Catchment Board (hereinafter called the said local authority) proposes, pursuant to the provisions of section thirty of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, to borrow the sum of twenty-four thousand pounds (£24,000) by a loan to be known as “Plant Loan, 1947” (hereinafter called the said loan) for the purpose of purchasing plant:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section eleven of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising by the said local authority of the said loan for the said purpose up to the amount of twenty-four thousand pounds (£24,000), and in giving such consent doth hereby determine as follows:—
