Notifying the Proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District for other Land
B. C. FREYBERG, Governor-General
WHEREAS by section one hundred and sixty of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor-General, whenever he deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay or receive any sum by way of equality of exchange :
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto for the land of equal value described in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owners of the land described in the Second Schedule have agreed to such exchange :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, doth hereby declare it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule.
FIRST SCHEDULE
DESCRIPTION OF LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED
Hawke’s Bay Land District
SECTION 23 (Lot 3 on D.P. 7118), Block VIII, Heretaunga Survey District: Area, 1 acre 2 roods 20 perches, more or less.
SECOND SCHEDULE
DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR
Hawke’s Bay Land District
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods 20 perches, more or less, being part Te Whare-o-Maraenui Block, and being Lot 1 on D.P. 7118, and being also part of the land in Certificate of Title, Hawke’s Bay, Volume 56, folio 97. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 16/2925, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged green.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 14th day of October, 1947.

Appointment of Member of the Board of Health under the Health Act, 1920

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Health Act, 1920, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
Henry Featherston Toogood, Esquire,
to be a member of the Board of Health for a period of three years.

Exempting Land in the Auckland Land District from the Operation of Part III of the Coal-mines Act, 1925

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by subsection two of section one hundred and seventy-one of the Coal-mines Act, 1925, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be exempt from the operation of Part III of the Coal-mines Act, 1925, and do hereby further declare that this notice shall take effect as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
SCHEDULE
ALL those pieces or parcels of land in the Auckland Land District, containing in the aggregate 1 acre 0 roods 15·7 perches, more or less, being Sections Nos. 1, 3, 4, and 6 on the plan of the Town of Te Akatea Extension No. 7, deposited in the Land Registry Office at Auckland as No. 33313, and being part of the land comprised in Certificate of Title, Volume 883, folio 298 (Auckland Land Registry).

The Animals Protection (Boundaries of Auckland and Rotorua Acclimatization Districts) Warrant 1947

PURSUANT to section twenty-one of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare as follows:—

This Warrant may be cited as the Animals Protection (Boundaries of Auckland and Rotorua Acclimatization Districts) Warrant 1947.

This Warrant shall take effect on and after the first day of November, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven.

The boundaries of the Auckland Acclimatization District, as the same are defined by Warrant bearing date the twentieth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, and published in the Gazette on the twenty-third day of the same month, at page 159, are hereby altered, and shall, on and after the date of taking effect of this Warrant, be those defined in the First Schedule hereto.

The boundaries of the Rotorua Acclimatization District, as the same are defined by Warrant bearing date the twelfth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, and published in the Gazette on the twentieth day of the same month, at page 1721, are hereby altered, and shall, on and after the date of taking effect of this Warrant, be those defined in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND ACCLIMATIZATION DISTRICT
ALL that area in the North Auckland, Auckland, Taranaki, and Wellington Land Districts, bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Mokau River, and proceeding thence along high-water mark, Tasman Sea, in a northerly direction generally (crossing the mouths of all rivers and harbours by the way) to the Kaipara Harbour entrance to a point midway between Kaipara Heads; thence up the centre of the channels, Kaipara Harbour, leading to the mouth of the Oruawhero River; thence by the southern boundaries of the Hobson and Whangarei Acclimatization Districts, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1925, pages 750 and 754, to the Mangawhai Harbour; thence by the middle of that harbour to the sea; thence along high-water mark of the sea, Hauraki Gulf, Firth of Thames, and Pacific Ocean (crossing the mouths of all rivers and harbours by the way), to the mouth of the Waihi River, in Block III, Waihi North Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line to Mount Te Aroha Trig. Station; thence north-easterly along a right line (in the direction of Ngakuriwhare Trig. Station, Block I, Katikati North Survey District) to the western boundary of the Tauranga Confiscation Block; thence south-easterly by right lines from hill to hill along the summit of the range forming the western boundary of the aforesaid Tauranga Confiscation Block, and passing over Ngatamahinerau, Mimiotohanga, and Waiuanu to Te Weraiti Trig. Station; thence south-easterly along a right line to Puwhenua Trig. Station, in Block VII, Tapapa East Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line in the direction of Trig. Station 1390, Pureora, to a point due east of Trig. Station 1002; thence due westerly along a right line to that trig. station; thence south-westerly along a right line to the dam-site at Maraetai on the Waikato River; thence westerly along a right line to Trig. Station 1771, in Block I, Whakamaru Survey District; thence south-westerly generally along the watershed between the Waiteti Stream and the Mangakino Stream, and between the Mangatete Stream and the Waione Stream, and to the south of the Karamarama Stream to Trig. Station 1778, Pukeroa, in Block XIV, Ranginui Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station 1390, Pureora; thence southerly along a mountain range passing through Weraroa, Tuhingamata, Motere, and Hauhangaroa Trig. Stations to Maungaku Trig. Station; thence southerly along the western boundary of the Waione Block to the Wanganui River; thence down the middle of that river to its confluence with the Ohura River; thence up the middle of the Ohura River to the 39th parallel of south latitude; thence westerly along the said parallel of latitude to the western boundary of Block IV, Pouatu Survey District; thence
