Notice to Mariners’ No. 2 of 1947
Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 3rd February, 1947.
NEW ZEALAND.—SOUTH ISLAND.—OTAGO HARBOUR
Dredging Operations
Position: Black Beacon No. 11. Lat., 45° 48′.1 S.; long., 170° 38′.3 E. (approx.).
Details: Dredging operations are in progress between black beacons Nos. 11 and 12 on their side of the channel and will continue for about three months. A black ball will be exhibited on the side on which vessels should pass.
At night the dredger will be moored on the same side of the channel between these beacons and exhibit two red lights on the port side and a white light on the port bow and quarter.
Mariners should proceed with caution when passing the dredger. No further notice will be issued.
