Exemption Order under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940

P URSUANT to the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940,* the Minister
of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the pro-
visions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the said regulations, so far
as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not apply
to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following
provision shall apply:

A motor-driver's licence issued under the Motor-drivers Regula-
tions 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule
hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor in the
course of his employment on a farm or market-garden of the
respective employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule,
but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen
years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice
declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen's Settle-
ment and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the
intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said
Act the lands described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy of the
said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 35 on the
26th day of June, 1947, at page 794:

And whereas an objection was made by the owner in the manner
prescribed by the said Act, objecting to the taking of the said lands:

And whereas the Minister of Lands did not revoke his notice of
intention to take the said lands:

And whereas the owner withdrew such objection and agreed to
an amended vesting-date:

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman
who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of
His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of
section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the lands des-
cribed in the said Schedule are taken for the settlement of discharged
servicemen, and hereby specifies the 19th day of May, 1948, as the
date on which the said lands shall be deemed to be vested in His
Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement one thousand
one hundred and forty-four (1,144) acres three (3) roods twenty-
eight decimal two (28•2) poles, more or less, being Lot 10 and part
of Lot 11, Deposited Plan 1467, and being also part of Section 16,
Block II, and part of Section 13 and closed road, Block III, Toetoes
Survey District, and being all the land contained in certificate of
title, Vol. 129, folio 134 (Southland Registry).

As witness my hand, this 16th day of September, 1947.

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of
Intention to take Land

THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the
Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby
gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the
Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the
3rd day of March, 1948, as the date on which possession of the
land is required, and the 21st day of October, 1947, as the date on
or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the
said Act.

SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land situated in Blocks XV and XVI, Maunga-
kawa Survey District, containing by admeasurement one hundred
and ninety (190) acres two (2) roods thirty-three (33) perches, more
or less, being all of the land on Deposited Plan 22244, being part
of Kiwitahi No. 1A Block, and being all of the land described in
certificate of title, Vol. 620, folio 72 (Auckland Registry).

Also all that parcel of land situated in Blocks XV and XVI,
Maungakawa Survey District, containing by admeasurement five
hundred and twenty (520) acres one (1) rood and thirty-six (36)
perches, more or less, being parts of Te Au-o-Waikato No. 2B
Section 1 Block, and part of the land on Deposited Plan 6647, being
part of Kiwitahi No. 1A Block, and being all of the land described
in certificate of title, Vol. 620, folio 73 (Auckland Registry).

Dairy Board Election (Southern Ward)

P URSUANT to the Dairy Board Election Regulations 1937,
notice is hereby given that the Roll of Electors for the Southern
Ward compiled in terms of Part 2 of the said regulations will close
on Friday, the 19th day of September, 1947, and will thereupon
be open for inspection at my office for a period of seven days.

Notice is hereby further given that nominations of candidates
for election of a member of the above Board for the aforesaid ward
will close at my office at noon on Thursday, the 2nd day of October,
1947.

Notice is hereby further given that in the event of more than
one candidate being nominated, the poll to be taken in respect of
the said election will close at my office at 7 p.m. on Thursday, the
23rd day of October, 1947.
