Changing the Purpose of Portion of a Reserve in Town of Kaikoura, Marlborough Land District

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 10th day of September, 1947
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms portion of a reserve duly set apart for a site for a Government building:
And whereas it is expedient that the purpose of the reservation over such land shall be changed to a reserve for an addition to a public-school site (Kaikoura):
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (a) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that the purpose of the reservation over the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby changed from a reserve for a site for a Government building to a reserve for an addition to a public-school site (Kaikoura).

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 30·6 perches, more or less, being Section l of 8 (formerly part Section 8), Town of Kaikoura. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/6/694A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 10th day of September, 1947

THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (b) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the reservation for public-cemetery purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that the said land, being vested in the Crown, is Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924.

Public Reserve in Nelson Land District declared subject to the Coal-mines Act, 1925

THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by subsection two of section one hundred and one of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto, being a reserve for hospital purposes, shall from and after the day of the gazetting hereof become subject to the Coal-mines Act, 1925, as if it were Crown land as defined by such last-mentioned Act.

Regulations for the New Zealand Military Forces 1927, Amendment No. 59

PURSUANT to the Defence Act, 1909, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations.
REGULATIONS
- THESE regulations may be cited as the Regulations for the New Zealand Military Forces 1927, Amendment No. 59.
- These regulations shall be read together with and form part of the Regulations for the New Zealand Military Forces 1927, published in the Gazette on the 25th day of May, 1927, at page 1555 (hereinafter called the principal regulations).
- These regulations shall come into force on the day following publication thereof in the Gazette.
- Para. 29 of Appendix VIII of the principal regulations, as amended by the Regulations for the New Zealand Military Forces 1927, Amendment No. 54, is revoked, and the following substituted:-
"APPENDIX VIII, PARA. 29.—The following list shows the order in which orders, decorations, and medals should be worn, but it in no way affects the precedence conferred by the statutes of certain orders upon the members thereof:-
" Victoria Cross.
" George Cross.
" British Orders of Knighthood, &c.—
" Order of the Garter.
" Order of the Thistle.
" Order of St. Patrick.*
" Order of the Bath.
" Order of Merit† (immediately after Knights Grand Cross of the Order of the Bath).
" Order of the Star of India.
" Order of St. Michael and St. George.
" Order of the Indian Empire.
" Order of the Crown of India.
" Royal Victorian Order (Classes I, II, and III).
" Order of the British Empire (Classes I, II, and III).
" Order of the Companions of Honour† (immediately after Knights and Dames Grand Cross of the Order of the British Empire).
" Distinguished Service Order.
" Royal Victorian Order (Class IV).
" Order of the British Empire (Class IV).
" Imperial Service Order.
" Royal Victorian Order (Class V).
" Order of the British Empire (Class V).
" NOTE.—The above applies to those orders of similar grades. When the miniature or riband of a higher grade of a junior order is worn with that of a lower grade of a senior order, the higher grade miniature or riband should come first—e.g., the miniature or riband of a K.C.I.E. will come before a C.B. and a G.C.M.G. before a K.C.B. Not more than four stars of orders and not more than three neck badges may be worn at any one time in full dress uniform. The ribands of orders, when the riband alone is worn, will be of the width of the ribands of the membership of the order. If there is no membership class the riband will be of the width of the riband of the Companionship of the Order.
" Baronet’s Badge.—(The badge is worn suspended round the neck by the riband in the same manner as the neck badge of an order and takes precedence immediately after the badge of the Order of Merit. It is not worn in miniature and the riband. is not worn with undress uniform.)
" Knights Bachelor’s Badge.—(The badge is worn after the Star of a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire It is worn in miniature and is not worn with undress uniform.)
" Indian Order of Merit (Military)†.
" Order of Burma (for gallantry).
" Decorations—
" Royal Red Cross (Class I).
" Distinguished Service Cross.
" Military Cross.
" Distinguished Flying Cross.
" Air Force Cross.
" Royal Red Cross (Class II).
" Order of British India.
" Kaisar-i-Hind Medal.
" Order of Burma (for good service).
" Order of St. John.
" Albert Medal.
" Medals for Gallantry and Distinguished Conduct—
" Union of South Africa King’s Medal for Bravery, in Gold.
" Distinguished Conduct Medal.
" Conspicuous Gallantry Medal.
" George Medal.
" King’s Police and Fire Services Medal, for Gallantry.
" Edward Medal.
" Royal West Africa Frontier Distinguished Conduct Medal.
" King’s African Rifles Distinguished Service Medal.
- These orders are not worn in miniature and the ribands are not worn with undress uniform.
† These orders are not worn in miniature, but are worn round the neck on all occasions except with service dress and certain orders of undress uniform.
† The Indian Order of Merit (Military and Civil) is distinct from the Order of Merit instituted in 1902.
