Lands permanently reserved in the Canterbury Land District

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral licence, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at the expiration of one month, but not later than six months, after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette:
And whereas the lands described in the Schedule hereto were by the Warrant dated the nineteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, and published in the Gazette of the twenty-sixth day of that month, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Act for the purposes in the Schedule of the said Warrant specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the lands described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be permanently reserved for which purposes the said lands were so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.

RESERVE 4509, situated in the Borough of Riccarton:. Area, 2 roods 39·8 perches, more or less. (Municipal.)
Reserve 4510, situated in the Borough of Riccarton: Area, 29 perches, more or less. (Municipal.)
Reserve 4511, situated in the Borough of Riccarton: Area, 24 perches, more or less. (Municipal.)
Reserve 4457, situated in the Borough of Riccarton: Area, 1 rood 10·2 perches, more or less. (Municipal.)
Reserve 4458, situated in the Borough of Riccarton: Area, 1 acre 1 rood 24·5 perches, more or less. (Recreation.)
Reserve 4459, situated in the Borough of Riccarton: Area, 1 acre 3 roods 20·7 perches, more or less. (Recreation.)
Reserve 4460, situated in the Borough of Riccarton: Area, 2 acres 0 roods 34 perches, more or less. (Recreation.)

Captain John Graham Hewitt, D.S.O., R.N., Second Naval Member of the New Zealand Naval Board, to cease to act as First Naval Member of the New Zealand Naval Board and Chief of Naval Staff, to date 31st July, 1947.

Midshipmen Neil Dudley Anderson, Berkeley Francis Goddard, and John Dennis Gresson, promoted to the rank of Acting Sub-Lieutenant and reappointed H.M. ship as directed, to date 1st May, 1947.
Lieutenant (E) Leonard Henry Andrewes, R.N., granted the acting rank of Lieutenant-Commander (E) whilst holding present appointment, to date from lst June, 1946.
Sub-Lieutenant (E) Fred Hutchinson Bland, promoted to the rank of Acting-Lieutenant (E) and reappointed H.M. ship as directed, to date 1st April, 1947.
