Appointment of Members of Board of Health under the Health Act, 1920

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Health Act, 1920, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint—
Muriel Emma Bell, M.D., William George Belton, Esquire, Sir James Sands Elliott, Kt., M.D., and Sir Charles Ernest Hercus, Kt., O.B.E., D.S.O., M.D., Ch.B., to be members of the Board of Health for a period of three years.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 20th day of August, 1947.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Medical Practitioners Act, 1914, and the Medical Practitioners Amendment Act, 1924, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby reappoint— Philip Stanley Foster, M.B., Ch.B. (Univ. N.Z.), M. and F.R.C.S. (Eng.), and Sir Charles Ernest Hercus, Kt., O.B.E., D.S.O., M.D., Ch.B. (Univ. N.Z.), F.R.A.C.P., to be members of the Medical Council under the aforesaid Acts.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 20th day of August, 1947.

Amending a Warrant notifying the Proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the Canterbury Land District for other Land

WHEREAS by section five of the Land Act, 1924, it is therein provided that every Proclamation, Order in Council, or other instrument (whether made under or by virtue of that Act or of any former Land Act), and all regulations, by-laws, conditions, or rules made by the Governor-General, the Minister, or any Land Board, may in like manner be altered, amended, or revoked from time to time:
And whereas it is necessary to amend a Warrant (hereinafter referred to as the said Warrant) issued under section one hundred and sixty of the Land Act, 1924, and dated the eighth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five, and published in the Gazette of the eleventh day of that month, declaring the intention of His Excellency the Governor-General to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the First Schedule thereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule thereto:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said section five of the Land Act, 1924, do hereby amend the said Warrant as follows—namely: By omitting from the First Schedule to the said Warrant the words "34 acres 1 rood 36 perches," and substituting therefor the words "34 acres 0 roods 36 perches."
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 19th day of August, 1947.

Notifying the Proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the Nelson Land District for other Land

WHEREAS by section one hundred and sixty of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor-General, whenever he deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay or receive any sum by way of equality of exchange:
And whereas in the opinion of the Governor-General it is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto for the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such exchange:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, doth hereby declare it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule.
FIRST SCHEDULE
DESCRIPTION OF LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED
Nelson Land District
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 16·2 perches, more or less, being Section 22, Block XII, Kaiteriteri Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/983F, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
SECOND SCHEDULE
DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR Nelson Land District
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 1 rood and 4 perches, more or less, being parts Section 16, Square 9, and Section 2, Block XII, Kaiteriteri Survey District, and being the whole of Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 3286. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/983F, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged green.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 19th day of August, 1947.

Notice of Intention to issue an Order in Council revoking the Reservation for Recreation Purposes over a Reserve in Block XI, Christchurch Survey District, Canterbury Land District

WHEREAS by subsection one (b) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), it is provided that the Governor-General may, from time to time, by Order in Council, revoke the reservation over any public reserve or part thereof, and thereupon the land comprised therein shall, if vested in the Crown or in any local authority, or trustees deriving title from the Crown, become Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924: And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve duly set apart for recreation purposes but is not required for that purpose, and it is expedient to revoke the reservation over the said land:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby give notice, pursuant to subsection two of section seven of the said Act, that it is my intention to issue an Order in Council under the provisions of subsection one (b) of section seven of the said Act declaring that the reservation for recreation purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be revoked.
SCHEDULE
Canterbury Land District
RESERVE 4376 (formerly Lot 30, Deposited Plan 10861), Block XI, Christchurch Survey District: Area, 2 roods 3·4 perches, more or less.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 19th day of August, 1947.

Land temporarily reserved in the Auckland Land District

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral licence, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve the land in the Auckland Land District, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for recreation purposes.
SCHEDULE
Auckland Land District
ALL that area in the Matamata County, situated in the Okauia Settlement, containing by admeasurement a total of 4 acres, more or less, being Sections 1B and 1D, Block III, Tapapa Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/1192, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland plans S.O. 14992 and S.O. 16144.)
