Also all that area situate in Block IX, Kairanga Survey District, containing by admeasurement twelve (12) acres three (3) roods thirty (30) perches, more or less, being part Section 1577, and being also Lot 2 on Deposited Plan No. 1696, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 155, folio 85 (Wellington Registry).

Also all that area situate in Block IX, Kairanga Survey District, containing by admeasurement one hundred and twenty-five (125) acres twenty-six (26) perches, more or less, being Section 1603, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 72, folio 295 (Wellington Registry).

Also all that area situate in Block IX, Kairanga Survey District, containing by admeasurement ninety-nine (99) acres nine (9) perches, more or less, being Section 1604, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 30, folio 177 (Wellington Registry).

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said Act the lands described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 71 on the 10th day of October, 1946, at page 1585:

And whereas an objection was made by the owner, in the manner prescribed by the said Act, objecting to the taking of the said lands:

And whereas the Minister of Lands did not revoke his notice of intention to take the said lands:

And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the objection was referred made an order disallowing such objection:

And whereas no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act:

And whereas the owner agreed to an amended vesting-date: And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the lands described in the said Schedule are taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 3rd day of March, 1948, as the date on which the said lands shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land situated in Blocks III and VII, Cambridge Survey District, containing by admeasurement sixty-seven (67) acres two (2) roods thirty-eight (38) perches, more or less, being Whareraurekau B Block, and being all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 266, folio 140 (Auckland Registry).

Also all that parcel of land situated in Block III, Cambridge Survey District, containing by admeasurement thirty (30) acres nineteen (19) perches, more or less, being Whareraurekau C No. 2 Block, and being all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 268, folio 10 (Auckland Registry).

Also all that parcel of land situated in Blocks III and VII, Cambridge Survey District, containing by admeasurement five hundred and two (502) acres eight (8) perches, more or less, being Maungakawa B No. 2 Block, and being all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 299, folio 176 (Auckland Registry).

Also all that parcel of land situated in Block VII, Cambridge Survey District, containing by admeasurement eighty-three (83) acres two (2) roods thirty (30) perches, more or less, being Maungakawa B No. 1 Block, and being all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 734, folio 105 (Auckland Registry).

Also all that parcel of land situated in Block III, Cambridge Survey District, containing by admeasurement fifteen (15) acres thirty-two (32) perches, more or less, being Whareraurekau C No. 3B Block, and being all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 807, folio 162 (Auckland Registry).

Rangitaiki Land Drainage.—Notice of making and levying General Rates

CLARENCE FARRINGDON SKINNER, Minister of Lands,
I., in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Rangitaiki Land Drainage Act, 1910, and its amendments, do hereby make and levy, on the unimproved value of all land within the district constituted under the said Act, the general rates to meet maintenance costs for the period 1st April, 1947, to 31st March, 1948, as described in the Schedule hereto.

The amount of such rates will be payable in one sum on the 30th day of August, 1947, together with the special rates already made and levied.

The rate-book of the district is open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Chief Drainage Engineer's Office, Room 15, First Floor, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland, and a copy of same may be inspected at the office of the Land Drainage Engineer, at Thornton, near Whakatane, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.

SCHEDULE

CLASS A.—On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the arbitrators appointed under section 6 of the Rangitaiki Land Drainage Act, 1910, fivepence and thirty-one one-hundredths of a penny (5·31d.) in the pound.

CLASS B.—On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class B, threepence and fifty-four one-hundredths of a penny (3·54d.) in the pound.

CLASS C.—On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, one penny and seventy-seven one-hundredths of a penny (1·77d.) in the pound.

CLASS D.—On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class D, fifty-nine one-hundredths of a penny (0·59d.) in the pound.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

F. W. J. Philpott, Motor Engineer, Papatoetoe, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed inside garage premises at the corner of Hamilton and Huia Roads, Papatoetoe.

M. J. Saunders, Watea Road, Mangere South, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on store premises at Watea Road, Mangere South.

L. C. Evans, 38 Wilson's Road, St. Martins, Christchurch, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at 38 Wilson's Road, St. Martins, Christchurch.

K. A. Sorrell (by E. C. Champion, Barrister and Solicitor, Christchurch) has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed on proposed new garage and service-station premises to be erected on a section adjoining 566 Worcester Street, Christchurch.

C. G. Till, 71 Tuam Street, Christchurch, has applied for permission to change the site of his retail selling point in respect of one pump from 71 Tuam Street to a new site at 232 Tuam Street, Christchurch.

R. B. Seabrook, Ltd., Hamilton, has applied for permission to change the site of the company's existing reselling point in respect of two pumps installed at 188 Victoria Street to new premises at the corner of Victoria and Princess Streets, Hamilton.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than the 4th September, 1947, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender.
