Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, City of Christchurch
Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 4th July, 1947.
IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the County of Waimairi and included in the City of Christchurch.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE
AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE COUNTY OF WAIMAIRI AND INCLUDED IN THE CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH
ALL that area in the County of Waimairi, Canterbury Land District, situated in Block XII, Christchurch Survey District, being the whole of the land in certificate of title, Vol. 481, folio 239, and part of roads, part Rural Section 231, and bounded by a line commencing at a point on the boundary of the City of Christchurch, such point being on the northern side of Cooper's Road in line with the eastern boundary of the land contained in the aforesaid certificate of title; thence across Cooper's Road and southerly and westerly by the eastern and southern boundaries of the area contained in the aforesaid certificate of title, continuing across Banks Avenue to the boundary of the City of Christchurch; thence generally northerly and easterly along that boundary to the point of commencement.

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.-Notice of Intention to take Land
THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 3rd day of March, 1948, as the date on which possession of the land is required, and the 11th day of August, 1947, as the date on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land situated in Blocks X, XI, XIV, and XV, Tapapa Survey District, containing by admeasurement one thousand and fifty-four (1,054) acres two (2) roods twenty (20) perches, more or less, being Lots 1, 2, and 3 on Deposited Plan 18728, and parts of Lots 13 and 14 on Deposited Plan 4987, being part of Okoroire Block, and being all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 632, folio 53 (Auckland Registry).

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.-Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen
WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable for the settlement of discharged servicemen:
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 27th day of May, 1947, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 31st day of July, 1947, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land situated in Block XV, Drury Survey District, and Block III, Onewhero Survey District, containing by admeasurement sixty-four (64) acres three (3) roods, more or less, being Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 9690, being part of Allotment 9, Pukekohe Parish, and being all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 233, folio 181 (Auckland Registry).

ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement thirteen (13) acres three (3) roods and twenty-five (25) perches, more or less, situated in Block XV, Cloudy Bay Survey District, being Allotment 1 on Deposited Plan No. 504, being also part of Section 64, District of Omaka, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 15, folio 186 (Marlborough Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement fourteen (14) acres one (1) rood and twenty-eight (28) perches, more or less, situate in Block XV, Cloudy Bay Survey District, being Allotment 2 on Deposited Plan No. 504, being also part of Section 64, District of Omaka, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 35, folio 259 (limited as to parcels and title), (Marlborough Registry).

Hauraki Plains Drainage Area.-Notice of making and levying Rates
I, CLARENCE FARRINGDON SKINNER, Minister of Lands, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Hauraki Plains Act, 1926, do hereby make and levy, on the unimproved value of all lands within the district constituted under the said Act, the general rates to meet maintenance-costs for the period from 1st April, 1947, to 31st March, 1948, as described in the Schedule hereto.
The amount of such rates will be payable in one sum on the 14th July, 1947.
The rate book of the district is open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Chief Drainage Engineer's Office, Room 15, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland, and a copy of same may be inspected at the office of the Land Drainage Engineer, at Kerepeehi, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.
SCHEDULE
CLASS A.-On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the appraiser appointed under the said Act, seven-pence and fifty-seven one-hundredths of a penny (7.57d.) in the pound.
CLASS B.-On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class B, fourpence and thirty-three one-hundredths of a penny (4.33d.) in the pound.
CLASS C.-On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, one penny and eight one-hundredths of a penny (1.08d.) in the pound.
