PURSUANT to the powers vested in him by the Board of Trade (Onion) Regulations 1938, the Minister of Agriculture hereby appoints—
James Moncrieff Smith, Esquire,
Jack Hean Claridge, Esquire, and
Reginald George Crush Ffitch, Esquire,
to be the Government representatives on the New Zealand Onion Marketing Advisory Committee established by the said regulations ;
Robert Wilfred Bilkey, Esquire, and
Harry Burrows, Esquire,
to be the representatives of the onion-growers in No. 1 District on the said committee ;
Sidney Harold Claridge, Esquire, and
Arnold Gillespie, Esquire,
to be the representatives of the onion-growers in No. 2 District on the said committee ;
John James Blackburn, Esquire, and
David Goode, Esquire,
to be the representatives of the onion-growers in No. 3 District on the said committee ; and
Owen Frederick Bushill, Esquire,
Harry Christmas, Esquire, and
Geoffrey Edward Royds, Esquire,
to be representatives of the merchants in No. 1, 2, and No. 3 Districts respectively engaged in the business of the wholesale marketing of onions in New Zealand, on the said committee ; and do hereby name James Moncrieff Smith, Esquire, to be the Chairman of the said committee

Agreement for Grant of Easement in favour of Violet Lily Barnes, of Taita, Widow, over Land in Block X, Belmont Survey District, taken for Housing Purposes, assented to
WHEREAS by an agreement dated the 14th day of January, 1943, Violet Lily Barnes, of Taita, Widow, agreed to His Majesty the King taking under the Public Works Act, 1928, an area of approximately 83 acres 3 roods 22 perches, being parts Section 64, Hutt District, and parts closed road for housing purposes :
And whereas the said Violet Lily Barnes is entitled to compensation for her freehold interest in the said area of 83 acres 3 roods 22 perches :
And whereas the Minister of Works has agreed to grant to the said Violet Lily Barnes the right to lay, construct, and maintain a line of pipes over portion of the aforesaid area of 83 acres 3 roods 22 perches for the purpose of carrying water to the adjoining land in part satisfaction of the compensation aforesaid, and to provide a sum of money in satisfaction of the residue of the said compensation :
And whereas Violet Lily Barnes has agreed to accept such grant of easement and sum of money in full satisfaction of the said compensation :
Now, therefore, the Minister of Works doth hereby give notice, in pursuance of section 97 of the Public Works Act, 1928, that he assents to the agreement hereinbefore referred to.

Notice of Intention to take Land in the Borough of Paeroa for Post and Telegraph Purposes (Postmaster’s Residence)
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a postmaster’s residence—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken : And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Paeroa and is there open for inspection ; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken :
37·57 perches.
Being Lot 2, D.P. 34102.
Situated in the Borough of Paeroa.
In the Auckland Land District ; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 125597, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
