CROWN LANDS NOTICE

Town Lands in Taranaki Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease

District Lands and Survey Office,
New Plymouth, 3rd June, 1947.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Monday, 21st July, 1947.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, 23rd July, 1947, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and the amount of weighting for improvements.

SCHEDULE

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND
Opunake Borough.—Town of Opunake

SECTIONS 1 and 3, Block XXXI: Area, 2 roods. Capital value, £290; half-yearly rent, £7 5s.

Weighted with £225 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising old five-roomed dwelling with bathroom, pantry, kitchenette, and washhouse with copper and tubs. The dwelling is fitted with electric light, porcelain bath, wash-basin, sink, &c.

These sections are situated in the Town of Opunake on the corner of South Road and Allison Street. Section 3 is practically level, while Section 1 is intersected by a stream.

TAIHAPE BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Taihape Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £24,000, authorized to be raised by the Taihape Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for street improvements, the said Taihape Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of two and seven-eighths pence (2½d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Taihape; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the loan is fully paid off."

The above resolution was passed at a meeting of the Taihape Borough Council held on the 22nd day of April, 1947.
