PURSUANT to section forty-four of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint—

Ivan Joseph Pohlen, Esquire, M.A., Pedologist, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Hastings,

Frank Rupert Burnley, Esquire, Commissioner of Crown Lands, Department of Lands and Survey, Napier,

Roland Phillip Hill, Esquire, Fields Instructor, Department of Agriculture, Hastings, and

Frederick William Lindup, Esquire, A.M.I.C.E., Acting District Engineer, Public Works Department, Napier,

to be non-elective members of the Hawke's Bay Catchment Board for a term commencing on the first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, and expiring on the thirtieth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven.

Appointing a Member of the Auckland Harbour Board

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Harbours Act, 1923, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

Leonard Cheyne Reid

to be a member of the Auckland Harbour Board, as a representative of the electors of the boroughs of Hamilton, Cambridge, Te Awamutu, and Ngaruawahia, in the place of Charles Abraham Barrell, resigned, to hold office until the third Wednesday of November, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 12th day of May, 1947.

Authorizing Erection of a Public Hall on Palm Beach Domain, North Auckland Land District

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by subsection one (d) of section fifty-two of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the Palm Beach Domain Board to erect a public hall on that portion of the Palm Beach Domain under its control described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area on Waiheke Island, situated in Blocks I and II, Waiheke Survey District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood and 28·05 perches, more or less, being Lots 294 and 295 on D.P. 16816, being part Whakarite Block. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan, marked L. and S. 1/1108B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 16th day of May, 1947.

Land temporarily reserved in the Auckland Land District

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve the land in the Auckland Land District, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for a public-school site (Ellicott's Block).

SCHEDULE

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

SECTION 9, Block V, Maungatautari Survey District: Area, 4 acres 3 roods 24 perches, more or less.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 16th day of May, 1947.
