Revoking a Warrant excluding Portion of a Road from Limitation
as to Speed and excluding Portion of a Road from the Speed
Limitation imposed by the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936,
Section 3

IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936,
and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, the Minister
of Transport doth hereby revoke the Warrant dated the 21st day
of December, 1936,* which applies to the road described in the
First Schedule hereto, and doth hereby exclude the road described
in the Second Schedule hereto from the limitation as to speed
imposed by the said section.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Wellington City—
Hutt Road (all that portion from the boundary of the Wellington
City at Ngahauranga to the junction of the said road
with the old Porirua Road at Kaiwarra).

SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Wellington City—
Hutt Road (all that portion from the boundary of the Wel-
lington City at Ngahauranga to a point 8 chains measured
along the said road in a north-easterly direction from its
junction with Rangiora Avenue).

Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes
of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3

IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936,
the Minister of Transport doth hereby declare the area described
in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the
purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving
any motor-vehicle on any road, street, or other place to which the
public have access therein shall be subject to the maximum speed
limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Waitomo County—
All that area at Benneydale, bounded by the northern and
north-western boundary of Ellis Road and by the northern
and north-western boundary of Ellis and Burnand’s tram-
way, and bounded by a right line running north and
south through the north-western corner of the Benneydale
Tennis and Bowling Club reserve, and bounded by a right
line running north-west and south-east through the
southern corner of the Benneydale School reserve; the
boundaries of the whole area being further indicated by
a red border on the plan marked TT. 1694, and deposited
in the office of the Transport Department at Wellington.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Revocation
of Notice of Intention to take Land

WHEREAS pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settle-
ment and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the
intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said
Act the lands described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy of the
said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 89 of
the 19th December, 1946, at page 1935 :
And whereas an objection was made by the owner objecting
to the taking of the said lands :
And whereas the Minister of Lands has decided not to proceed
with action to take the said lands :
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of
subjection (4) of section 25 of the said Act, doth hereby revoke
the notice of intention to take the said lands.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement twenty-six
(26) acres seventeen decimal nine five (17·95) perches, more or
less, being parts of Rural Sections 35, 36, and 37, Karere Block,
Block XIII, Kairanga Survey District, and being also Lot 1 on a
plan deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at
Wellington, numbered 9952, and being all the land described in
certificate of title, Vol. 421, folio 283 (Wellington Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement
thirty-four (34) acres two (2) roods fourteen (14) perches, more or
less, being parts of Rural Sections 37 and 38, Karere Block, Block
XIII, Kairanga Survey District, and being also Lot 2 on a plan
deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington,
numbered 9952, and being all the land described in certificate of
title, Vol. 421, folio 284 (Wellington Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement
seventy-five (75) acres, more or less, being parts of Sections 3 and 4,
Karere Block, Block XIII, Kairanga Survey District, and being
all the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 80, folio 101
(Wellington Registry).

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of
Intention to take Land

THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the
Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby
gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the
Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the
1st day of June, 1948, as the date on which possession of the land
is required, and the 16th day of June, 1947, as the date on or before
which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.

SCHEDULE

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land situated in Block VIII, Maungakawa Survey
District, containing by admeasurement eight hundred and forty-six
(846) acres three (3) roods fifteen decimal five one (15·51) perches,
more or less, being parts of Kerihone and Kahutopanoa Blocks,
and being the balance of the land described in certificate of title,
Vol. 278, folio 46 (Auckland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land situated in Block VIII, Maungakawa
Survey District, containing by admeasurement ninety-nine (99) acres
three (3) roods two decimal seven (2·7) perches, more or less, being
parts of Te Awapikopiko Block, and being all of the land described
in certificate of title, Vol. 778, folio 55, limited as to parcels (Auckland
Registry).

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of
Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal,
acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce,
doth hereby make the following amending Price Order :—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 696, and shall
    be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 585†
    (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).
  2. This Order shall come into force on the 15th day of May,
  3. Clause 3 of the principal Order, as amended by Price Order
    No. 642‡, is hereby further amended by omitting “12s. 6d.” and
    substituting “13s.”.
  4. Price Order No. 642‡ is consequently revoked.
