HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased, in pursuance of paragraphs (b) and (c) of subsection (2) of section 3 of the Stock-remedies Act, 1934, to appoint—

John Francis Filmer, Esquire, D.V.Sc., on the recommendation of the New Zealand Veterinary Association (Incorporated),

and

Colin Barclay McDougall, Esquire, Ph.C., on the recommendation of the Pharmacy Board of New Zealand,

to be members of the Stock-remedies Registration Board established under the said Act.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XI, Belmont Survey District, for Post and Telegraph Purposes

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a hostel for Post and Telegraph employees—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Johnsonville and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 2 roods 20 perches.

Being the Native Land Court Subdivision 1B of Section No. 8, Block XI, Belmont Survey District, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 138, folio 141 (Wellington Land Registry).

As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 125411, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

As witness my hand at Wellington, this 6th day of May, 1947.

Notice respecting Proposed Constitution of Borough of Glen Eden

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 7th May, 1947.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted as the Borough of Glen Eden.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed constitution of such borough which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE

AREA PROPOSED TO BE CONSTITUTED AS THE BOROUGH OF GLEN EDEN

ALL that area of approximately 1,267 acres in the North Auckland Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the southern side of the North Auckland Main Trunk Railway, being the eastern corner of Section 98, Waari Hamlet, and running easterly generally along the southern side aforesaid, to and along the north-western side of the area of 1 rood and 33·58 perches taken for railway by Proclamation published in New Zealand Gazette No. 79 of the 13th day of December 1945, page 1535, and along a right line from the northern corner of the area taken as aforesaid to the angle in the southern boundary of the area of 19·02 perches taken for road-diversion by the aforesaid Proclamation; thence along the southern boundary of the said area of 19·02 perches, to and along the northern side of Station Road for a distance of 894·29 links, and along a right line, bearing 54° 43′ distant 722·3 links, across Allotment 248, Parish of Waikomiti, to and along the north-western side of Eden View Road, and a right line being that side produced across the Great North Road, to and along its north-eastern side to the south-eastern side of Sabulite Road; thence along the south-eastern side aforesaid to the western corner of Allotment 230 of Waikomiti Parish aforesaid; thence south-easterly generally along the south-western boundary of Allotment 230 aforesaid, and along the south-western boundaries of Allotments 232, 233, and 221 of the aforesaid parish, and a right line being the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of Archibald Road; thence along the middle of Archibald Road aforesaid, and a right line being its production across Great North Road, to and along its south-western side, to and along the south-eastern side of the West Coast Road to the south-western corner of Lot 19 on the plan numbered 21448, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, being Allotment 163, Waikomiti Parish aforesaid; thence along the south-western boundary of the aforesaid Lot 19 and the south-western boundary of Allotment 162 of Waikomiti Parish aforesaid to the North Auckland Main Trunk Railway; and thence along right lines across the aforesaid railway, bearing 107° 57′ distant 247·16 links, bearing 71° 16′ 50″ distant 120·83 links, bearing 198° 01′ distant 72·27 links, and bearing 108° 01′ distant 413·46 links, to the north-eastern corner of Lot 22 on the plan numbered 20071, deposited as aforesaid, being part Allotment 159, Parish of Waikomiti; thence along the south-eastern boundary of the aforesaid Lot 22, the abutment of Liverpool Street, and the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 23, 24, 25, and 26 on the aforesaid plan numbered 20071, being parts of the aforesaid Allotment 159, to the south-western boundary of the aforesaid Allotment 159; thence along the aforesaid south-western boundary and a right line being its production to the middle of Fruitvale Road; thence south-westerly along the middle of Fruitvale Road aforesaid to its intersection with the alignment of the north-eastern side of Croydon Road; thence along a right line across Croydon Road aforesaid, to and along the north-western boundaries of Lots 3 and 2 on the plan numbered 232, lodged in the office of the Registrar of Deeds at Auckland, being parts of Allotments 140 and 139 of the aforesaid Waikomiti Parish, along the north-western boundary generally of Lot 6 on the plan numbered 32381, deposited as aforesaid, being parts of Allotments 139 and 138 of the aforesaid parish, the north-western boundaries of parts Allotments 138, 137, and 136 of the aforesaid parish, to and along the north-western boundaries of Lots 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 on the plan numbered 33070, deposited as aforesaid, being other parts of the aforesaid Allotment 136, to an angle in the north-eastern side of Pleasant Road; thence along the northern boundary of Lot 6 aforesaid, and a right line being its production to the middle of Hillcrest Road; thence along the middle of Hillcrest Road and the middle of the public road forming the eastern boundaries of Lots 1 and 2 on the plan numbered 28402, deposited as aforesaid, being parts of Allotments 11 and 133 of Waikomiti Parish aforesaid, to and along the middle of View Road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Lot 1 aforesaid; thence along a right line to and along the north-western boundary of the aforesaid Lot 1 to the south-eastern corner of Allotment 112 of the said parish; thence northerly generally along the eastern boundary of the said Allotment 112, and the eastern boundaries of Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4 of Allotment 15 of the said parish to the middle of the western end of View Road; thence along the middle of View Road aforesaid to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Allotment 114 of the aforesaid parish, and along a right line to and along the eastern and northern boundaries of that allotment, to and along the eastern boundary of Lot 3 on the plan numbered 269, lodged as aforesaid, being part of Allotment 14, Waikomiti Parish, and a right line being the production of the aforesaid eastern boundary to the middle of the West Coast Road; thence along the middle of that road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 1 on the plan numbered 24269, deposited as aforesaid, being part of Allotment 14 of the Waikomiti Parish aforesaid; thence along a right line, to and along the aforesaid eastern boundary and along the centre of a stream, to and along the eastern boundary of Section 98, Waari Hamlet, to the point of commencement.
