NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act, 1909, by writing under his hand dated this 28th day of April, 1947, cancelled the registry of Iti Rebekah Lodge, No. 62, of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of New Zealand, Friendly Society (Register No. 146/228), held at Otaki, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

NOTICE OF CHANGE OF SURNAME

I, BEATRICE JEAN WOOD, heretofore called and known by the name of BEATRICE JEAN WOODING, of Christchurch, Spinster, hereby give public notice that on the 21st day of April, 1947, I formally and absolutely renounced, relinquished, and abandoned and adopted and determined thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of WOOD instead of the said name of WOODING: And I give further notice that by a deed-poll dated the 21st day of April, 1947, duly executed and attested and enrolled in the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Christchurch on the 23rd day of April, 1947, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the said surname of WOODING and declared that I had assumed and adopted and intended thenceforth upon all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of WOOD instead of WOODING, and so as to be at all time thereafter called, known, and described by the name of WOOD exclusively.

DUNEDIN CITY CORPORATION

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Dunedin (hereinafter called the said Corporation) proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the erection of an electric-power substation, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto requires to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the Municipal Chambers of the said Corporation situate in the Octagon in the City of Dunedin, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land, should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk of the said Corporation.
