BOROUGH OF WESTPORT

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
——
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Westport Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of £15,000, authorized to be raised by the Westport Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of improving and extending the gas-supply to outlying portions of the borough, and making improvements at the gasworks, the Westport Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twopence (2d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Westport; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
We, John McLean Robertson and Percival Claude Morgan, Mayor and Town Clerk of the Borough of Westport respectively, do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution is a true and correct extract of the minutes of proceedings of the Westport Borough Council at a meeting of the said Council held on the 22nd day of April, 1947.

“That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of £12,200, authorized to be raised by the Westport Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of improving the headworks and reticulation within the borough and extending the water-supply to Brougham Street in the Buller County, the Westport Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and three-eighths of a penny (1¾d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Westport; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

WAIAPU HOSPITAL BOARD

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

NOTICE is hereby given that the Waiapu Hospital Board, acting under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, proposes to execute a certain public work—namely, to take land for the purpose of erecting thereon hospital buildings for the use of the Te Puia Hospital—and for that purpose the land containing 2 roods, being Sections 3 and 4, Block II, Te Puia Township, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 86, folio 3 (Gisborne Registry), is required to be taken.
All persons affected by the execution of such public work who have any well-founded objection thereto must deliver same to the Clerk of the Waiapu Hospital Board at Te Puia within forty days of the first publication of this notice.

NOTICE is hereby given that, a special resolution having been passed by the Reveille Publishing Company, Limited, that the company be voluntarily wound up, a meeting of the creditors of the said company will be held pursuant to section 234 of the Companies Act, 1933, in the Chamber of Commerce Rooms, Grays Building, Courthouse Lane, Auckland, on the 7th day of May, 1947, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon, at which meeting a full statement of the position of the company’s affairs, together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amount of their claims, will be laid before the meeting, and at which meeting the creditors, in pursuance of section 235 of the said Act, may nominate a person to be the liquidator of the company, and, in pursuance of section 236 of the said Act, may appoint a committee of inspection.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Wellington City Anderson Park Restoration Loan, 1946, of £16,400
THE following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council held on the 24th day of April, 1947:—
“In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and its amendments, and of all other Acts, powers, and authorities enabling it in that behalf, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a special loan of sixteen thousand four hundred pounds (£16,400), to be known as the ‘Wellington City Anderson Park Restoration Loan, 1946,’ authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of restoring the playing fields at Anderson Park, the Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twenty-five eight-hundredths of a penny (25/800d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years from the 1st day of July, 1947, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

PRIVATE BILL
——
In the matter of the Standing Orders of the General Assembly of New Zealand relative to Private Bills, and in the matter of a Private Estate Bill intituled “An Act to vary certain Charitable and Educational Trusts established by John Robert McKenzie, of Christchurch, Merchant.”
IT is the intention of The J. R. McKenzie Trust Board, duly incorporated under the provisions of the Religious, Charitable, and Educational Trusts Act, 1908, and having its registered office at Wellington, to present a petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand for the said Bill.
The objects of the said Bill are to vary the said Trusts by dividing the net annual income of the Trust Funds into four equal parts instead of five equal parts as provided by the Deed of Trust establishing the said Trusts, and to use and apply such equal parts within the Dominion of New Zealand for the charitable or educational purposes set forth in the said Deed, that is to say: As to one of such four equal parts for certain specified purposes with discretion as to apportionment, selection, and exclusion; and as to the remaining three of such four equal parts for any charitable or educational purpose or purposes in the Dominion of New Zealand selected by the Board with power to vary and to apply all or any part thereof for such specified purposes or any of them; and to vary the said Deed of Trust accordingly.
Printed copies of the Bill will be deposited in the Private Bill Office, Parliament Buildings, Wellington, on the 31st day of May, 1947.
