Plant declared a Noxious Weed in Franklin County.—(Notice No. Ag. 4408)

THE following special order made by the Franklin County Council on the 24th day of March, 1947, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.
SPECIAL ORDER
“In exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Franklin County Council hereby resolves and declares, by way of special order, that the plant Hemlock (Conium maculatum), being a plant mentioned in the Second Schedule to the said Act, is a noxious weed within the County of Franklin.”

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman
WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman:
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 10th day of March, 1947, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 15th day of May, 1947, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land situated in Block XIV, Ngautuku Survey District, containing approximately twenty-three (23) acres, being part of the land on D.P. 20273, being Sections 3 and 5 and part of Whakamaru-Mangaiti Block, and being part of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 690, folio 273 (Auckland Registry).
Also all those parcels of land containing approximately six (6) acres two (2) roods and seventeen (17) acres three (3) roods thirty-seven (37) perches, being parts of Lot 2, D.P. 30111, being parts of Section 28, Block I, Ngongotaha Survey District, and being parts of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 783, folio 97 (Auckland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement nine hundred and thirty-eight (938) acres one (1) rood ten (10) perches, more or less, being parts of Sections 3 and 28, Block I, Ngongotaha Survey District, and being part of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 829, folio 116 (Auckland Registry).

ALL that parcel of land containing forty (40) acres, more or less, begin Rural Sections 2861 and 4069, situated in Block IX, Christchurch Survey District, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 394, folio 167 (Canterbury Registry).

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said Act the lands described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 75 on the 24th day of October, 1946, at page 1635:
And whereas no objection was made in the manner prescribed by the said Act to the taking of the said lands:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto are taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 1st day of May, 1947, as the date on which the said lands shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
SCHEDULE
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement four hundred and twenty-eight (428) acres three (3) roods and twenty-six (26) perches, more or less, situated in Blocks VIII, IX, and XII, Waikari Survey District, being part Reserve 1149, and part Lot 4 on plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Christchurch and numbered 775, the said part Lot 4 comprising parts Rural Sections 23105, 23195, 23430, and 24974, being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 141, folio 127 (Canterbury Registry).

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of Intention to take Land
THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 3rd day of June, 1947, as the date on which possession of the land is required, and the 12th day of May, 1947, as the date on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land situated in Block XII, Thames Survey District, containing by admeasurement three (3) acres two (2) roods eighteen decimal one (18.1) perches, more or less, being part of Te Wanake No. 1 Block, and being the balance of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 674, folio 177 (Auckland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land situated in Block XII, Thames Survey District, containing by admeasurement six (6) acres three (3) roods thirty-one decimal seven (31.7) perches, more or less, being part of Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 13947, being part of Oruarangi No. 3 Block, and being the balance of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 324, folio 153 (Auckland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land situated in Block XII, Thames Survey District, containing by admeasurement eighty-two (82) acres three (3) roods thirteen decimal five (13.5) perches, more or less, being part of the land on Deposited Plan 13945, being parts of Tukituki A, Tukituki B, Tukituki C, and Whanake No. 2 Blocks, and being the balance of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 324, folio 155 (Auckland Registry), together with a right-of-way created by Transfer 140519 over part of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 325, folio 87 (Auckland Registry).
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement one hundred and one (101) acres one (1) rood eleven (11) perches, being all Deposited Plan 8039, being part of Allotment 48, Parish of Opaheke, and being the whole of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 210, folio 82 (Auckland Registry).
