Election of Member of Nelson Land Board
District Lands and Survey Office,
Nelson, 2nd December, 1946.
I, ERIC FRANK FROGGATT, Returning Officer for the election
of a member of the Nelson Land Board, in accordance with
the provisions of section 47 of the Land Act, 1924, and the regulations made thereunder, do hereby declare the result of the poll
taken on the 28th day of November, 1946, to be as follows :-

CROWN LANDS NOTICES
Land in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures
North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 14th January, 1947.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is
open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act,
1924; and applications will be received at the North Auckland
District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o'clock a.m.
on Monday, 17th February, 1947.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the
North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland,
on Tuesday, 18th February, 1947, at 10 o'clock a.m., but if any
applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other
Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required
to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the
first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and weighting
for improvements.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.-THIRD-CLASS LAND
Hobson County.-Tatarariki Parish
ALLOTMENT 83 : Area, 106 acres l rood. Capital value, £160.
Deposit on deferred payments, £20. Half-yearly instalment on
deferred payments (term : fifteen years), £6 18s. 3d. Renewable
lease : Half-yearly rent, £3 4s.
Weighted with £17 (payable in cash) for improvements,
comprising half share in 68 chains boundary fencing.
Allotment 169 : Area, 70 acres l rood 27 perches. Capital
value, £105. Deposit on deferred payments, £5. Half-yearly
instalment on deferred payments (term : fifteen years), £4 18s. 9d.
Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £2 2s.
Weighted with £9 (payable in cash) for improvements,
comprising half share in 36 chains boundary fencing.
These sections are situated approximately eight miles from
Te Kopuru Post-office and School, sixteen miles from Dargaville,
and fifteen miles from Mangawhare Dairy Factory and Saleyards.
Access is from Te Kopuru, six miles metalled road and two miles
(approximate) sandy road.
Section 83 has approximately 20 acres and Section 169
approximately 25 acres shallow peat swamp in rushes, balance
easy to undulating sandy pipe clay in scrub and hakea. Both
allotments are suitable for run-off areas.

Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,

open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act,
1924 ; and applications will be received at the Auckland District
Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o'clock a.m. on
Friday, 21st February, 1947.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the
Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Tuesday,
25th February, 1947, at 10 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is
unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board
or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Discharged servicemen, or wives or widows of servicemen or
discharged servicemen, have preference over all other classes of
applicants.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required
to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising
the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.

This section is situated on Hakiaha Street, which is the main
street, 36 chains from the post-office and 24 chains from the
railway-station and heart of business area. Electricity, water, and
sewer connections are available. The section is considered suitable
for residential purposes.

years with perpetual right of renewal at revaluation) under the
Land Act, 1924, and applications will be received at the District
Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, up to 11 o'clock a.m. on Monday,
10th February, 1947.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the
P.W.D. Camp Hall, Inangahua Junction, on Thursday, 13th
February, 1947, at 2 p.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend
he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any
Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants. Discharged servicemen, or the wives of
widows of servicemen or discharged servicemen, have preference
over all other classes of applicants.
NOTE.-These sections are offered in terms of section 153 of
the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral
under the surface shall pertain to the lessee, whose rights shall be
to the surface soil only.

This township is situated on the main Inangahua
Junction-Nelson Highway, about one mile from Inangahua
Junction, thirty miles from Westport, and twenty-two miles from
Reefton. A post-office is already established in the township, and
the Inangahua School is just on the boundary of the town. There
is a large hall in the township. Nearly all the sections have flat
land suitable for building.
