The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of
Intention to take Land
THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the
Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby
gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the
Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 19th
day of February, 1948, as the date on which possession of the land
is required, and the 30th day of April, 1947, as the date on or before
which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement one thousand
five hundred and forty-one (1,541) acres, more or less, situated in
Block XVIII, Cape Campbell Survey District, and Block X, Whern-
side Survey District, being all the land on Deposited Plan 1003,
and being Sections 218, 219, 220, 221, 222, and part of Sections 216,
217, 223, Flaxbourne Run, part of Sections 62, 63, 64, 168, 169,
Flaxbourne District, and Section 3 and part of Sections 4 and 5,
Block X, Whernside Survey District, and being the whole of the land
comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 27, folio 25 (Marlborough
Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement one
thousand and twenty-four (1,024) acres two (2) roods one decimal
eight (1·8) perches, more or less, situated in Blocks X and XV,
Whernside Survey District, being Sections 224, 225, and part of
Section 223, Flaxbourne Run, part of Sections 166, 167, 168, 170,
Flaxbourne District, and part of Section 6, Waipapa District, being
part of the land in Deposited Plan 946, together with rights-of-way
created by Transfers Nos. 2491 and 12888 as appurtenant to parts
of the above-described land, and subject to right-of-way and other
rights granted by Transfer No. 2492 over part of the above-described
land, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in
certificate of title, Vol. 39, folio 208 (Marlborough Registry).

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice
declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settle-
ment and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the
intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the
said Act the lands described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy
of the said notice was published in the Gazette on the 27th day of June,
1946, at page 915 :
And whereas an objection was made by the owner, in the
manner prescribed by the said Act, objecting to the taking of the
said lands :
And whereas the owner withdrew such objection and agreed to
an amended vesting date :
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman
who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of
His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship :
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of
section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the lands
described in the Schedule hereto are taken for the settlement of
discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 28th day of March,
1947, as the date on which the said lands shall be deemed to be
vested in His Majesty the King.
SCHEDULE
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT
ALL those parcels of land containing together five (5) acres two (2)
roods and six (6) perches, more or less, being Section 557R and part
of Section 564R, Block II, Otepopo Survey District, being all the
land in certificate of title, Vol. 141, folio 140 (Otago Registry).
And also all those parcels of land containing together one thou-
sand two hundred and twenty-two (1,222) acres and nine (9) perches,
more or less, being Sections 106, 107, 108, 109, 131, 140, 141, 146,
147, and parts of Sections 96, 97, 98, 99, 100, 102, 103, 104, 105,
110, 129, 130, 1 of 132, 2 of 132, Block II, Otepopo Survey District,
being all the land in certificate of title, Vol. 241, folio 116, limited
as to parcels (Otago Registry).

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III
of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936
Radio-manufacturing Industry
Lincoln and Fletcher, 11 Patterson Street, Sandringham,
Auckland, have applied for a license to manufacture radio receiving-
sets.
Pharmacy Industry
E. I. Shuker, Motueka, has applied for a license to operate a
new pharmacy at High Street, Motueka.
Manufacture of Paua (Haliotis iris) Shell for Sale
The following person has applied for a license to engage in the
industry described in the Industry Licensing (Paua Shell) Notice
1946 :—
H. Meredith, 3 Scorching Bay, Wellington.
Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit
K. J. Gray (by Allen, Needham, and Morton, Barristers and
Solicitors, Morrinsville) has applied for a license to resell motor-
spirit from one pump to be installed inside garage premises at the
corner of Park and Thames Streets, Morrinsville.
Glasspole Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd., 42 Victoria Street,
Lower Hutt, has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from
four pumps to be installed on the kerbside facing tire-retreading
and servicing premises at 42 Victoria Street, Lower Hutt.
V. J. Cleave (by Alexander, Bennett, Warnock, and Segar,
Barristers and Solicitors, Auckland) has applied for a license to
resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed on proposed
garage and service-station premises to be erected on a section
opposite the post-office at Blockhouse Bay, Auckland.
D. J. Wright (by Allen, Needham, and Morton, Morrinsville)
has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be
installed on proposed garage premises on No. 8 Road, Te Punianga.
C. M. Walsh, Lake Street, Cambridge, has applied for permission
to change the site of his retail selling point from premises in Lake
Street to new premises to be erected in Victoria Street, Cambridge.
East Tamaki Co-op. Dairy Co., Ltd., P.O. Box 912, Auckland,
has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to
be installed on new factory premises in Great South Road, Manurewa.
L. H. Maber, Maber Motors, Studholme Street, Morrinsville,
has applied for a license to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be
installed on the kerbside fronting garage premises in Studholme
Street, Morrinsville.
Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be
materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on
these applications should, not later than the 10th April, 1947,
submit any written evidence and representations they may desire
to tender. All communications should be addressed to the Acting-
Secretary, Bureau of Industry, C.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.
