Declaring Lands in the Canterbury Land District to be subject to the
Provisions of Section 23 of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal
Act, 1939

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS by section twenty-three of the Reserves and other
Lands Disposal Act, 1939, it is enacted that the Governor-
General may by Proclamation declare any lands of the Crown to be
subject to the provisions of that section to enable certain readjust-
ment of leases and licenses to be carried into effect:
And whereas it is deemed expedient that the lands described
in the Schedule hereto should be subject to the provisions of the
said section:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities so conferred upon me by subsection one of the aforesaid
section twenty-three, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril
Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby proclaim and declare, that from and after the date of
gazetting hereof, the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be
subject to the provisions of the said section twenty-three of the
Reserves and other Lands Disposal Act, 1939.

Altering Boundaries of Waikato and Matamata Counties and including
Area in Taotaoroa Riding, Matamata County

A PROCLAMATION
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on me by section fourteen of the Counties
Act, 1920, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me
in that behalf, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg,
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the area described in the First Schedule
hereto, being now part of the Waikato County, shall be added to
and form part of the Matamata County; that the boundaries of
the Waikato County and Matamata Counties as so altered shall
be those set forth under the respective headings in the Second
Schedule hereto; that the area added as aforesaid to the Mata-
mata County shall be included in the Taotaoroa Riding of the
said county; and that the boundaries of the Taotaoroa Riding
as so altered shall be those set forth in the Third Schedule hereto;
and I also proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall take
effect as on and from the first day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and forty-seven.
FIRST SCHEDULE
AREA EXCLUDED FROM WAIKATO COUNTY AND INCLUDED IN
MATAMATA COUNTY
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, situated in Block X,
Cambridge Survey District, bounded by a line commencing at a
point being the westernmost corner of Lot 19, as shown on the
plan numbered 14887, deposited in the office of the District Land
Registrar at Auckland, being part of Section 12A Whitehall Settle-
ment, and running south-easterly along the south-western boundary
of the said Lot 19, and a right line across a public road, to and along
the south-western boundaries of part Section 12 of the said settle-
ment, as shown on the plan numbered 16464, deposited as aforesaid,
and parts Lots 1 and 2 of Section 13 of the said settlement to Trig.
Station Opuahau; thence south-westerly along the north-western
boundary of part of Section 14A of the said settlement to the middle
of the Karapiro Stream; thence north-westerly generally down the
middle of the said stream to a point in line with the eastern boundary
of Lot 2, as shown on the plan numbered 31473, deposited as afore-
said, being parts of Allotments 238, 239, 277, 277A, 278, 279, and
279A of the Parish of Hautapu; thence north-easterly generally
along a right line, to and along the eastern boundary of the said
Lot 2, to and along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries
of the northern part of Allotment 240 of the said parish, the abut-
ment and the eastern side of the public road forming the eastern
boundaries of the said part Allotment 240 and the said Lot 2, and
a right line across French Pass Road, to and along the eastern
boundary of part of Lot 2, as shown on the plan numbered 3569,
deposited as aforesaid, being parts of Allotments 277 and 278 of
the said parish, to and along the generally south-eastern boundary
of part of Allotment 336 of the said parish to the point of commence-
ment.
SECOND SCHEDULE
WAIKATO COUNTY
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, bounded by a line
commencing at a point in the Waikato River midway between its
left bank and the western boundary of Allotment 36, Koheroa
Parish (Motu Tawa Island), and on the right line between the
point where the said left bank is intersected by the production
of the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 93, Onewhero Parish,
and the south-western corner of Section 17, Suburbs of Mercer,
and being on the south-eastern boundary of the Mercer Town
District, and running easterly generally along the said right line
to and up the middle of the Whangamarino River, the Maramarua
River, and the Mangatangi Stream to the middle of the Pokeno-
Miranda Road; thence easterly along the middle of that road and
the middle of the road forming the northern boundaries of parts
Allotments 158 and 157, Koheroa Parish, and part of the northern
boundary of Section 3, Block VII, Wharekawa Survey District,
and intersecting Lots 20, 21, 22, and 23, as shown on the plan
numbered 7211, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar
at Auckland, being parts of Wharekawa Nos. 2 and 3 Blocks, to
and along the middle of part of Wharekawa No. 1 Block, being
the land between Lots 13 and 15, as shown on the plan numbered
31704, deposited as aforesaid, and between Lots 1 and 3, as shown
on the plan numbered 27867, deposited as aforesaid, and the said
Lot 15, again along the middle of a public road, to and along the
western, southern, and eastern boundaries of Allotment 213,
Koheroa Parish, to and again along the middle of a public road
and the middle of the Pokeno-Miranda Road to a point in line
with the western boundary of Allotment 82, Koheroa Parish;
thence along a right line, to and along the western and northern
boundaries of the said Allotment 82, crossing the said road inter-
secting the said northern boundary, to the Firth of Thames ; thence
southerly generally along the shores of the said Firth of Thames
and the left bank of the Miranda Stream to a point in line with
the north-western boundary of Lot 2, as shown on the plan numbered
28111, deposited as aforesaid, being part of Waitakaruru No. 3c 1
Block; thence along a right line across the said Miranda Stream,
to and along the north-western boundary of the said Lot 2, a right
line across a public road, to and along the north-western boundary
of Lot 1, as shown on the said plan numbered 28111, along part of
the north-western boundary of Waitakaruru No. 4c 5 Block, the
north-western boundary of Waitakaruru No. 4c 3 Block, another
part of the north-western boundary of the said No. 4c 5 Block,
and the north-western boundaries of Waitakaruru No. 4c 4 Block,
and Lot 3, as shown on the plan numbered 21822, deposited as
aforesaid, being part of Waitakaruru No. 4 Block, to the western
corner of that lot; thence along a right line being the production
of the last-mentioned boundary, across Sections 8 and 10, Block
VIII, Wharekawa Survey District, to and along the north-eastern
boundary of Section 1, the north-eastern, eastern, and south-
eastern boundaries of Section 2, both sections being of Block VIII
aforesaid, and along the northern boundary of Section 5, Block II,
Piako Survey District, to its intersection with a right line between
Trig. Station No. 135, Rataroa, and the north-western corner of
Section 38, Block VII, Piako Survey District; thence along the
said right line, to and along the south-western boundaries of the
said Section 38, parts Sections 4 and 5 of the said Block VII, part
Section 12 of Block VII aforesaid, and Lot 2 of the said Section 12,
along the abutment of a public road, another part of the south-
western boundary of the said Section 12, the abutment of another
public road, and a further part of the south-western boundary of
the said Section 12, and the south-western boundary of Section 5
of Block VII aforesaid, along the western boundaries generally of
part Section 1 and Section 2, both of Block XV, Piako Survey
District, a right line across a public road, to and along the western
boundary generally of Section 9, Block XVI, Piako Survey District,
to and along the north-western boundaries of Sections ls and 3s,
Tainui Settlement, the north-western and south-western boundaries
of Hoe-o-Tainui North No. 6B 2J 1 Block, along the south-western
boundaries of Hoe-o-Tainui North No. 5B 2 Block, Sections 6 and 7
of Block VIII, Hapuakohe Survey District, Hoe-o-Tainui North
Nos. 5A North 2A 2, 5A North 2A 1, and 5A North 2B Blocks, and
Lot 6, as shown on the plan numbered 13199, deposited as aforesaid,
being part of Hoe-o-Tainui North No. 5A South 2 Block, Lot 8, as
shown on the said plan numbered 13199, being part of Section 1 of
Block XII, Hapuakohe Survey District, Hoe-o-Tainui South No. 4A
Block, Sections 18, 17, 16, and 15, of Block XII aforesaid, along
the south-western boundaries of Hoe-o-Tainui South Nos. 1A 2 and
1A 1 Blocks, Lots 1 and 2, as shown on the plan numbered 29197,
deposited as aforesaid, Lot 1, as shown on the plan numbered 8138,
deposited as aforesaid, part of Lot 6, as shown on the plan numbered
11661, deposited as aforesaid, Lots 1 and 2, as shown on the plan
numbered 12366, deposited as aforesaid, Lots 1 and 2, as shown
on the plan numbered 13235, deposited as aforesaid, Lots 6 and 5,

the south-western boundaries of Lot 2, as shown on the plan numbered

plan numbered 6948, deposited as aforesaid, the said lots being
parts of Motumaoho No. 1 Block, along the south-western boundaries
of Lots 1 and 2, as shown on the plan numbered 8165, deposited as
aforesaid, being parts of the said Motumaoho No. 1 Block and
Kohatupapanui Block, Lot 1, as shown on the plan numbered 7723,
deposited as aforesaid, being parts of the said Kohatupapanui Block
and Mangaotupua Block, Lot 2, as shown on the plan numbered
26272, deposited as aforesaid, and part of Lot 2, as shown on the
plan numbered 7860, deposited as aforesaid, being parts of the said
Mangaotupua Block, and crossing intersecting roads and the Auck-
land-Rotorua Railway; thence south-easterly and north-easterly
