Notice of Intention to take Land in the Borough of Blenheim for Housing Purposes
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for housing purposes: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Blenheim and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 1·89 perches.
Being part Section 3, Omaka District.
Situated in Block XVI, Cloudy Bay Survey District (Borough of Blenheim) (Marlborough R.D.). (S.O. 3855.)
In the Marlborough Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 124721, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.

Approval of Testing Officer under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940
IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve of the person named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a Testing Officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman
WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman:
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 4th day of February, 1947, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 30th day of April, 1947, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing twenty-five (25) acres, more or less, situate in Block XV, Kairanga Survey District, being part of the Section 218 in the Township of Fitzherbert, and being the whole of the land contained in certificate of title, Vol. 33, folio 106 (Wellington Registry).
As witness my hand, this 25th day of February, 1947.

Engineers Registration Board.—Annual Practising Certificates
FORMS of application for Annual Practising Certificates for the year commencing 1st April, 1947, are available at the Engineers Registration Board Office, 8 The Terrace, Wellington C.1. Only applications lodged before 1st April will appear in the Annual List as gazetted.
Under section 3 of the Engineers Registration Amendment Act, 1944, if a person is not the holder of a current Annual Practising Certificate it is an offence for him to lead any other person to believe that he is a registered engineer.
