Notice respecting Proposed Constitution of Borough of Kaikohe

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 9th December, 1946.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His
Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal
Corporations Act, 1933, praying that the area described in the
Schedule hereto may be constituted as the Borough of Kaikohe.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written
objections to or petitions against the proposed constitution of such
borough which they desire to lodge, within one month from the
first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be
addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.


SCHEDULE

AREA PROPOSED TO BE CONSTITUTED AS THE BOROUGH OF KAIOHE

ALL that area of approximately 1,342 acres in the North Auckland
Land District, situated in Block XV, Omapere Survey District,
and being the whole of the Kaikohe Town District, and an adjoining
portion of the County of Bay of Islands, bounded by a line commenc-
ing at a point on the right bank of the Mangamutu Stream, being
the north-eastern corner of Taraire No. 1b 1c 2 Block, and running
easterly generally down the right bank of the said Mangamutu
Stream to the south-western boundary of part Taraire No. 2a 2
Block ; then along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries
of the said No. 2a 2 Block, the south-eastern boundary of part
Taraire No. 2g 3 Block, a right line across a public road, to and
along another part of the south-eastern boundary of the aforesaid
No. 2g 3 Block, and the south-eastern boundary of Taraire No. 2g 2
Block, to the right bank of the Wairoro River ; then southerly
generally down the right bank of the aforesaid Wairoro River to
the northern boundary of Kohewhata No. 6a Block ; then westerly
generally along the northern and western boundaries of the said
No. 6a Block to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of
Kohewhata No. 47 Block ; then along a right line across the
Mangakahia Road, to and along a part of the said south-eastern
boundary, a right line across the North Auckland Main Trunk
Railway, to and along another part of the south-eastern boundary
of the aforesaid No. 47 Block for distances of 611·4, 50, and 37·5
links ; then along right lines intersecting the last-mentioned
block, bearing 274° 35′ distant 402·5 links, and bearing 207° 52′
distant 912·3 links ; then along a right line, to and along the
northern boundary of part Kohewhata No. 69 Block, along a right
line across part Kohewhata No. 65c Block, to and along the northern
boundaries of Rangihamama C and I Blocks, and a right line being
the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of
the Waikaka Stream ; then up the middle of the said Waikaka
Stream to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Tuhuna
No. 16 Block ; then along a right line to and along the said north-
western boundary, and along the north-eastern boundary of Tuhuna
No. 15 Block to the Taheke Road ; then along a right line across
the said road, to and along the northern boundary of Tuhuna No. 6b
Block, along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of
Waikotihe Block, the northern boundaries of part Tuhuna No. 7c 2
Block, Tuhuna No. 7b 1 Block, and another part Tuhuna No. 7c 2
Block to the eastern boundary of Tuhuna No. 6f Block ; then
northerly generally along the said eastern boundary, the eastern
boundary of Tuhuna No. 6a 2 Block, crossing the intervening
North Auckland Main Trunk Railway, and along the northern bound-
ary of Tuhuna No. 2 Block, the eastern boundary of Taraire No. 103
Block, the south-eastern boundaries of parts Taraire No. 1c and
1r Blocks, and the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of
another part Taraire No. 1r Block to a public road ; then easterly
along the southern side of the said public road to the northern
corner of Taraire No. 1x 1b 2 Block ; then northerly along a
right line, across the said public road, to and along the eastern
boundary of Taraire No. 1d 2c Block, and a right line being the
said eastern boundary produced to a public road ; then south-
easterly along the south-western side of that road to a point in line
with the south-eastern boundary of Taraire No. 1d 1b 6 ; then
north-easterly and northerly along a right line, across the said public
road, to and along the said south-eastern boundary and the south-
western and eastern boundaries of Taraire No. 1b 1c 2 Block, to
the point of commencement : be the aforementioned measurements
more or less.

Redefining Boundaries of the Borough of Waipukurau, the County
of Waipukurau, and the Mount Herbert Riding of the County
of Waipukurau

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 16th December, 1946.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 147 of the Municipal
Corporations Act, 1933, the boundaries of the Borough of
Waipukurau are hereby defined as set out in the First Schedule
hereto, the boundaries of the said borough having been altered
by Order in Council made under the Municipal Corporations Act,
1933, dated the 18th day of September, 1946, and published in
Gazette No. 70 of the 3rd day of October, 1946.

And also, in pursuance of the provisions of the said section 147
of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, the boundaries of the
County of Waipukurau affected by the said Order in Council are
hereby defined as set out in the Second Schedule hereto.

And, in further pursuance of the provisions of the said section
147 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, the boundaries of the
Mount Herbert Riding of the County of Waipukurau affected by
the said Order in Council are hereby defined as set out in the Third
Schedule hereto.


FIRST SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE BOROUGH OF WAIPUKURAU

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, situated in Blocks
XIV and XV, Waipukurau Survey District, commencing at the
intersection of the southern boundary of Lot 23 on Deeds Plan 158
with the south-eastern boundary of Section 4, Block XIV,
Waipukurau Survey District ; then north-easterly along the
south-eastern boundary of the said Section 4, across the Wellington-
Napier Railway, to and along the south-eastern boundaries of
parts Lots 19 and 27 on Plan 1994, deposited in the office of the
District Land Registrar at Napier, Lot 1 on Plan 2548, deposited
as aforesaid, across the Palmerston North—Napier State Highway,
to and along the south-eastern boundary of Lot 1 on Plan 4834,
deposited as aforesaid, to and along the north-western boundary
of a right-of-way, as shown on Plan 1749, deposited as aforesaid,
to the right bank of the Tuki Tuki River ; then generally easterly
along the right bank of the Tuki Tuki River to the north-eastern
corner of Lot 5 on Plan 4897, deposited as aforesaid ; then
generally southerly along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 5
and 1, the eastern boundaries of Lots 1, 2, and 4 on the aforesaid
Plan 4897, the eastern boundaries of part Lot 12 and Lot 54 on
Deeds Plan 519, the abutment of Francis Drake Street, the eastern
boundaries of Lots 53 and 52 on the said Deeds Plan 519 to the
Tamumu Road ; then easterly along the northern side of that
road to the south-eastern corner of Lot 1 on Plan 1607, deposited
as aforesaid ; then southerly by a right line across the aforesaid
Tamumu Road, to and along the western boundaries of Lots 11,
12, 13, and 14 on Deeds Plan 305 to the northern boundary of
Lot 9 on Deeds Plan 462 ; then westerly along the northern
boundary of the said Lot 9, across Tavistock Road, to and along
the southern boundaries of Lot 14 on Deeds Plan 462, Lot 9 on
Deeds Plan 285, to the Porangahau Road ; then northerly along
the eastern side of that road to a point in line with the northern
side of Cemetery Road ; then westerly across Porangahau Road,
to and along the northern side of Cemetery Road, to and across
Racecourse Road, to and along the southern boundary of Lot 23
on Deeds Plan 158, to the point of commencement.
