Resolutions of Both Houses of Parliament reserving Land as an Endowment for Primary Education

THE following resolutions, passed by the Legislative Council and by the House of Representatives, are published in accordance with section 362 (3) of the Land Act, 1924.

EXTRACT FROM THE JOURNALS OF THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

Thursday, the 10th day of October, 1946

Resolved, “That the Report of the Lands Committee on Paper 149—namely, to reserve Section 33, Block V, Whangape Survey District, North Auckland Land District, as an endowment for primary education—be agreed to.”—(On motion of the Hon. Mr. Duncan.)

Notice respecting Proposed Abolition of the Poverty Bay River District, County of Cook

Wellington, 16th December, 1946.

IT is hereby notified that the Poverty Bay Catchment Board has presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the River Boards Act, 1908, and the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, praying that the Poverty Bay River District may be abolished. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed abolition which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

Notice respecting Proposed Dissolution of the Waimakariri River Trust


Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 17th December, 1946.

IT is hereby notified that the North Canterbury Catchment Board has presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor-General, under section 8 of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Amendment Act, 1946, praying that the Waimakariri River Trust be dissolved and that the powers and functions thereof be transferred to the North Canterbury Catchment Board.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the aforesaid proposal which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, City of Christchurch

Wellington, 17th December, 1946.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the County of Waimairi and included in the City of Christchurch.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.


SCHEDULE

AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE COUNTY OF WAIMAIRI AND INCLUDED IN THE CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH

ALL that area in the County of Waimairi, Canterbury Land District, situated in Block XII, Christchurch Survey District, and bounded by a line commencing at a point on the boundary of the City of Christchurch, such point being on the right bank of the River Avon in line with the western side of Gayhurst Road, proceeding generally northerly across the River Avon and Dallington Terrace, to and along the western side of Gayhurst Road to McBratney’s Road; thence westerly along the southern side of that road to Dallington Terrace, and the production of the last-mentioned line to a point on the boundary of the City of Christchurch; thence generally in a southerly direction along that boundary to the point of commencement.

Notice respecting Proposed Constitution of Borough of Putaruru


Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 17th December, 1946.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted as the Borough of Putaruru.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed constitution of such borough which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.


SCHEDULE

AREA PROPOSED TO BE CONSTITUTED AS THE BOROUGH OF PUTARURU

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point being the easternmost corner of part Section 97, Selwyn Settlement, Block VI, Patetere North Survey District, as shown on the plan numbered 13158, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, and running southerly generally along the generally western side of the public road on the left bank of the Oraka Stream to the northern corner of Section 97A, Selwyn Settlement, Block VI aforesaid; thence along a right line across the Waitoa-Wairakei Main Highway, to and along the generally western side of the fishing reserve on another part of the left bank of
