PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-
General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare
that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for
the purpose of paddocking driven cattle and shall vest in the
Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Cook
as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and I do also declare that
this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twenty-third
