Education Reserves in Taranaki Land District for Lease

District Lands and Survey Office,
New Plymouth, 10th December, 1946.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned education reserves are open for lease under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1928, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 20th January, 1947.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, 22nd January, 1947, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicants are required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.

SCHEDULE

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—EDUCATION RESERVES
Ohawe Town Belt.—Hawera County

SUBDIVISION 5 of Section 1: Area, 33·7 perches. Half-yearly rent, 15s.

Subdivision 6 of Section 1: Area, 34·7 perches. Half-yearly rent, 15s.

These sections are situated at the Ohawe Beach, about five miles and a half from the Hawera Post-office by good road. The sections are suitable for building-sites.

Form of lease may be perused and any further particulars may be obtained at the office of the undersigned.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Gisborne, on Friday, 10th January, 1947, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend be may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount in reduction of weighting for improvements.

GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT.—EDUCATION RESERVE
Gisborne Borough.—Town of Gisborne

Lot 1, D.P. 2817, of Section 48: Area, 27·9 perches. Half-yearly rent, £31.

Weighted with £2,500 for improvements, comprising a large two-storied iron and kauri building. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £500, the balance may be paid over a period of fifteen years by thirty half-yearly instalments of £95 11s. 8d.

This property, known as the Masonic Sample Rooms, is situated in Lowe Street, Gisborne. The building is divided into large rooms, with a total floor space of 7,792 square feet, and should be very suitable for business premises.

Town Land in the Wellington Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease

District Lands and Survey Office,
Wellington, 10th December, 1946.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, up to 4 p.m. on Monday, 27th January, 1947.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, State Fire Building, Wellington, on Wednesday, 29th January, 1947, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and weighting for improvements.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND
Feilding Borough.—Town of Feilding

PART Lot 76, D.P. 19, Town of Feilding, and being part Subdivision A, Manchester Block: Area, 1 rood. Capital value, £160; half-yearly rent, £4.

Weighted with £85 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising brick shed with wood floor and iron roof, dimensions approximately 31 ft. by 13 ft.

This section, which is suitable for a building-site, is situated on the corner of Manchester and Gray Streets in the Borough of Feilding. The land is flat and in grass, and borough water-supply is available.

Settlement Land in Canterbury Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease

District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 10th December, 1946.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 13th January, 1947.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Tuesday, 14th January, 1947, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their financial position and farming experience.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at the conclusion of the ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.

SCHEDULE

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
Amuri County.—Waiau Survey District.—Annan Settlement

SECTION 15, Blocks IX and X: Area, 986 acres 2 roods 18 perches. Capital value, £2,585; half-yearly rent, £64 12s. 6d.

Weighted with £1,225 for improvements, comprising dwelling of seven rooms, with pantry, scullery, and bathroom, lean-to shed, concrete tank and piping, fencing, and roading. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £325, the balance may be secured by loading on the lease for a term of twenty years (interest, 5 per cent.) with half-yearly instalments of principal and interest amounting to £35 17s.

This property, which is suitable for sheep-grazing, is situated on the Highfield–Waiau Road, approximately one mile and three-quarters from Waiau Post-office and School, and two miles and a quarter from Waiau Railway-station, and comprises pastoral hills with approximately 85 acres of flat light stony land and approximately 70 acres ploughable downs. The land is watered by running streams, and is subdivided into eight paddocks and two tussock blocks; altitude from 500 ft. to 1,500 ft.

Carrying-capacity.—When brought back to reasonable condition the property is estimated to carry seven hundred ewes and two hundred hoggets.

NOTE.—After the prescribed deposit has been paid an exemption from the payment of rent for two years will be granted, provided the carrying-capacity during that period is restricted to four hundred ewes, and that rabbits and nasella tussock are brought under control.
