MOTUEKA BOROUGH COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

PURSUANT to section 22 of the Public Works Act, 1928, public notice is hereby given that the Motueka Borough Council proposes to take for street-widening purposes certain lands fronting High Street in the Borough of Motueka: Such lands comprise a strip approximately 16 ft. 6 in. in depth and extending from and including Lot 23 of Deposited Plan 1575, northwards along the western side of High Street to the northern boundary of Lot 2 on Deposited Plan 2390, and from the southern boundary of Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 2537, extending northwards along the western side of High Street to the northern boundary of Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 3216 at Poole Street; such lands being parts of Sections 162 and 160, Native Reserves of Motueka. A plan of the land so proposed to be taken is deposited at the office of the Town Clerk, Motueka, and is open for inspection by all persons during the ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the proposed works and who have any well-grounded objection to the execution of the said works or to the taking of the said lands must set forth their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty (40) days of the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk, Motueka.

NOTICE OF CHANGE OF SURNAME

I, ROBERT BRUCE GRAHAM, of Auckland, Civil Servant (now lately called ROBERT BRUCE CRUICKSHANK), do hereby give notice that I have, by deed-poll dated the 18th day of November, 1946, and duly enrolled in the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Auckland under No. M. 321/46, for myself and my wife and my children and remoter issue, absolutely renounced and abandoned the use of my former surname of CRUICKSHANK and in lieu thereof have assumed and adopted the surname of GRAHAM, so that I and my wife and my children and remoter issue may henceforth be called and known not by my former surname of CRUICKSHANK but by my assumed surname of GRAHAM.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP

THE partnership hitherto subsisting between Reginald Herbert Webb, Denis Rochfort Richmond, George Henry Allison Swan, and Percy Kenneth Bryan, as Barristers and Solicitors, and carried on as a firm under the name of Webb, Richmond, Swan, and Bryan, at 235 Lambton Quay, Wellington, has been dissolved as from the date hereof.

THE Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Board doth hereby in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Act, 1944, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and their respective amendments, and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, resolve, by special resolution intended to operate as a special order, to borrow the sum of twenty-five thousand five hundred pounds (£25,500) as a special loan, to be designated “Loan No. 3, 1946, £25,500,” for the following purposes:—

(a) Constructing Branch Sewer No. 9, sixth portion, in the Oakley Creek watershed, exclusive of amount of subsidy payable by the Department of Housing Construction estimated at £3,900 .. .. .. .. £15,500

(b) Constructing six pumping-stations and laying rising mains in the Remuera, Grey Lynn, and Point Chevalier districts of Auckland City .. .. .. £10,000

The foregoing special order was made by way of a special resolution passed at a special meeting of the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Board convened by requisition of the Chairman dated the 23rd day of October, 1946, and held on the 30th day of October, 1946. It was publicly notified in the New Zealand Herald on the 1st day of November, 1946, and the Auckland Star on the 18th day of November, 1946. It was confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the Board held on the 28th day of November, 1946.

PURSUANT to the powers vested in it by the Christchurch District Drainage Amendment Act, 1922, the Christchurch Drainage Board hereby resolves that the boundary of the said Special Area hereinbefore described and defined shall be further altered so as to include in the said Special Area all those areas more particularly described in the Schedules hereto; and further resolves that the said areas shall form part of and be included in the Subdivision B of the said Special Area and that the boundaries of the said Subdivision B shall be altered accordingly so as to include all those areas more particularly described in the Schedules hereto.
